*MENU HAS BEEN DRASTICALLY REDUCED!!! We've been going to Angelo's for years... one of the hidden gems. We haven't visited often since COVID. However, this will most likely be our last visit. First, the menu available to view online (website) is no longer their menu. We found so many of our favorites are no longer available... the Chicken Marsala is even gone! The current menu has very limited options. Second, the portions have also been drastically cut... not one take home box needed. We had 9 in our party tonight, 2 being kids meals, and the kids portion was larger than our entrees. Plus, there has been an obvious increase in price (expected due to inflation). My 22 year old son had 3 small pieces of chicken (Chicken Ala Crema) and a tiny portion of noodles. He doesn't eat salad so he left feeling like it wasn't enough food. I will add the rolls and salad are still yummy and the same. Third, I made a reservation well over a week out and even updated my party number prior to arrival. We were seated immediately, but because they needed table turnover (several parties waiting), our entire meal was rushed. The servers did their job by removing plates immediately and clearing constantly. But, the good service of clearing made it feel so rushed and was very obvious. This was a birthday celebration for three family members, and my husband and I picked up the bill @ $200. What made it even worse was walking to the car, the entire family is voicing the...
Read moreThree of us dined on October 15 early evening 6:30. We made a reservation but probably not needed.
Mallory took excellent prompt care of us She was thorough in her explanation of menu options and service process. She checked on our progress through the entire meal, keeping our beverages filled without asking I have physical issues with making adequate salvation for swallowing food so I consume a great deal of water during a meal. Her service well met my needs in this area.
Our appetizers were hot and ample. My crab cakes could serve as a meal for a smaller appetite.
One of my all time favorite entrees in Italian cuisine is veal marsala. It was excellent in every aspect cooked to perfection. Many times in other venues it comes out tough or chewy. This was not the case at Angelo's.
The staff was great working to support each other all night.
My only caution is if you are seeking a dimly lit romantic restaurant you might not be thrilled as it was well lighted and the pricing reasonable enough that several families with younger folks were there at the same time we were. Perhaps later dining would help with this issue.
Overall tab with appetizers,a bottle of wine, entrees and tip was $120. We will definitely be back on our next trip...
Read moreI recently dined at Angelo's restaurant for the first time, and as non-locals, my experience was mixed. The hostess greeted us warmly and was very polite, setting a positive tone for the evening. The salad was fresh, but unfortunately, it was drenched in dressing to the point where it resembled a soup. The excessive dressing caused the salad to quickly become soggy and overly marinated.
The bread had a nice blend of spices, but it lacked proper toasting or cooking, appearing too white and undercooked. It left a feeling of unfinished preparation. The Eggplant Parmigiana was underwhelming, with an excessive amount of breading that overshadowed the dish's flavors.
On a brighter note, the Shrimp & Scallops Bella Donna was flavorful and enjoyable, although it resembled more of a stew due to the overwhelming amount of sauce. Once again, the issue of too much dressing persisted, with everything swimming in a sea of white sauce.
Our waitress was a standout, being very pleasant and courteous throughout our meal. I hope this feedback reaches the chef, as dialing back on the excessive use of sauce could truly elevate the taste of their dishes. With some adjustments, Angelo's has the potential to offer a more balanced and satisfying...
