I bought my first new car and wanted to have the windows tinted. I chose Foss Audio and Tint because I knew Scott Foss personally and had worked with him before. I paid online and was told they would be able to get me in and out quickly. They said tinting my car should be easy. They also said if I was the first one there, I could win free 6x9 speakers. I won the speakers, so I decided to have my rear speakers replaced. I waited all day for the quick job. I received a text message asking how my window tint and speakers were working for me.
I asked if it was the shop or someone checking on behalf of the shop. They said they check on all of their shops. So I explained what happened and asked to speak to the owner. I have text messages that demonstrate this person’s poor customer service, as well as their refusal to connect me to the owner.
They turned my words back on me, saying I said that I had already spoken to the owner. So I demanded to speak with the owner. I was told that I had already done so, which was a lie. The bubbles were water, and they said they should go away. This was on top of being given excuse after excuse the several times I had them replace all the bad windows. The rear window was redone. I was told it was because the car was dirty with pollen and because of the back rear defrost lines. These were just excuses for poor work.
Now that the sun is finally out, I can see all these dirty swirl water marks. In all of my windows and spots.
I went to Car Toys and spent over $3,000.00 replacing the alarm system and purchasing a subwoofer amplifier combo. I had them install three cameras in my vehicle.
I waited as this person said to in the text. There was no change, so I drove to the location to have their tint guy look at it and tell him what Car Toys said. That the tint guy didn't shrink the top of the back window well enough.
Gabe saw me and told the tint guy not to talk to me; he would do it. As I waited, I noticed my driver’s side small back window had a small chip in the tint.
I was watching Gabe the entire time. He finally comes out. So, I showed him the small window that I had just noticed. Then, I took him to the back window. I lifted up my hatchback, showing him what Car Toys had shown and told me. Gabe's response was, "Nice theory, but wrong. Our tint guy has 30 years of experience. Besides, you tampered with the window, so there's nothing I can do."
I brought up the text, and he said, "Yeah, I just read it," while he was inside. A lie—he was the person who texted me, which is why he knows what it said. He was inside, walking around helping customers. How could he have reread it?
Gabe has terrible customer service, and I would know that's one of my specialties. I am in the 90th percentile in sales. Customer service
I want the owner to contact me as soon as possible. I have unprofessional text messages and responses that they need to see and read.
I am not happy with the overall experience and how I have been treated. I passed away last year, and this new car was a goal of mine.
II worked so hard to raise my credit score in order to do so. Gabe would have had all my business if it weren’t for his bad attitude and backhanded comments, along with his excuse for poor workmanship
If I don’t hear from the owner, I will post the texts here for all to read. You want customers for life, not just a customer for now. That’s how you go out of business.
I would like a refund so I can have Car Toys do the work since they have no problem doing it correctly! I have been back to Foss more than six times, and all my windows still look dirty with swirl watermarks..
I checked with the Better Business Bureau (BBB); they are not accredited by them and have only a one-star rating from them due to customer complaints.
I had Car Toys redo my back window. A installer with only 3yrs experience did it right the first time compared to Foss 30 years experience with 0 skills reflecting their experience. Given nothing but excuses like you read over and over again here in these reviews. I...
Read moreSo I thought it was about time I submitted a review now that actually can use my sound system. I went here 2 years ago ish for new system and tints. I told them what I wanted and the tints on my window came out nice however the sound system is a whole different story. They took out the back speakers because they said it would work better somehow ( I know nothing of sound systems) and installed new speakers in the front with a sub and amp; well after the install not more than a week later the speakers were cutting out and I called them and I brought it back in well they simply said they didn’t see anything wrong and sent me on my way. Needless to say my system stopped working after about a month. I work more than full time and just didn’t have time to keep bringing it in. I paid about 1200 for this system and just yesterday I told my friend what happened and I still had everything hooked up exactly how they did it, the system just didn’t work I hadn’t touched anything in my car related to my sound system, I just never had any bass; so my friend looked at it and said they used a really cheap connector that was extremely to thin for my system so that burnt out then he actually took my speaker that was put in the box out to test it and those had died. I had a knob installed in my car and then. During this process of installing at Foss They asked me to wait another weeek so they can order new speakers in the front door that they said would work better but were more expensive. . Then they said I needed a new dash so my sound system would work better, I almost did it but I was already at about 1200 at this point.
Guys I’m not kidding you, I only enjoyed this without the speakers cutting out frequently for maybe a week. The whole thing cut out in a month. They should have taken the speakers out to test them. And do a more thorough job of checking it when I brought it back in. I do know they were short staffed at the time but it’s no excuse. I trusted the business to help me achieve what I wanted and I feel I was taken advantage of. I just don’t want this to happen to someone else. Needless to say my friend fixed what they couldn’t and after 2 years I can finally enjoy the...
Read moreIf you’re in the market for car audio head over to Foss Audio in Everett, Washington to meet with Jeremy Boyd. I was referred to the shop by a friend who told me a lot of great things about him and his ability. Walking in the door I was greeted with a smile and a handshake and had never met a person who knew more about car audio in my life. If you’re looking to buy a new head unit , upgrade your speakers or install a fully custom system you won’t find a better source. I explained what my wants were and was enlightened about how to achieve my goal of having amazing sound in my car. The man really knows what he’s talking about. I looked him up online after the fact and learned that Jeremy holds several National titles in IASCA, an organization dedicated to car stereo competition. I learned more about DSP’s, amplifiers and speakers than I ever thought possible. I left absolutely amazed at the man’s knowledge and his kindness. I felt like I was treated like family the whole time I was there. I live on the Oregon coast a couple hours west of Portland and bypassed every car stereo shop from my town, past Tacoma, Seattle and other points in between to get there. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. You won’t find a nicer person or better staff with as much knowledge and information about how to achieve your goal of having a great sounding automobile. If you just want a nice sounding car stereo or want a full blown competition car audio system go meet with Jeremy and his crew at Foss! You’ll be really glad you did. On the outside it’s just a normal looking business front but inside it’s where dreams become reality and quality sound is the only thing that matters. Thank you Jeremy Boyd and all your crew at Foss Audio in Everett for making my life sound so good!! I am a forever customer...
