Ok so it’s the grand opening! I called for takeaway order but not 2 minutes into the call I told them I’d just come to the restaurant. We started out by ordering about four items and two of them. They told us they weren’t making at this time because they were overwhelmed with the menu. It’s their grand opening and they can’t provide everything on the menu. Well to me that’s a red flag. We did order 4 different dishes just to get the lay it the land. First atmosphere is a little loud inside in my opinion, they could use some sound deadening decorations, everyone’s food on their tables that I eyeball on the way to the front counter looked good. I placed my order and was told 20 minutes, that’s fair they were kinda busy it was 6:15 on a Saturday night. After waiting 25 minutes I went to the counter and asked about my order, a young man standing behind the counter rummage through a few bags by looking up at me telling me this was my order, but we’re waiting for one more it. I waited another almost 15 minutes for the last dish in my order to be cooked, it was broccoli with garlic sauce. Now I’m not happy about having the rest of my order sitting in a bag on the front counter, while I wait almost 15 minutes for my broccoli with garlic sauce to be cooked, which should’ve been one of the first dishes ready. I was prepared for my dinner to be cold by the time I arrived home and I was right my meal was called, especially my sweet-and-sour chicken, which I had ordered sweet-and-sour pork but as I stated they were overwhelmed and couldn’t cook everything that they had on their menu. I also discovered that my barbecued fried rice was actually shrimp fried rice. They got that order wrong.the food although cold was ok tasting . The interior of the restaurant in my opinion could use some work but that’s only my opinion. I didn’t care for the back wall of the restaurant being decorated with empty beer bottles, however someone else may think that’s very cool. So back to the food , my sweetness, our pork, although cold, as I said, tasted OK, my barbecued fried rice, which was actually shrimp fried rice again the flavor was decent. The dish was cold my Kung pow beef was cold but the meat was tender and seemed to be good quality so overall if they get the timing down this place might be ok. I was very disappointed that they were aware that they had made a mistake with the timing of my order but I was never offered anything…. Not a discount not a desert not even a fortune cookie which they forgot to put in my order too. I will go back in a month or two and see if they have improved. If I were you I would go and see what happens for yourself. I can’t give them a great rating but I also feel like they are new and are on a learning curve. My tip to the management offer your customers SOMETHING when they aren’t getting 100% of what they...
Read moreI really wanted to like this spot. Went on Mothers Day late afternoon so wasn't too busy then. I haven't found good chinese in Everett yet and the journey still continues.
Service and atmosphere good. Things clean so had high hopes going into it considering reviews. However the most important thing (the FOOD) was just awful mall cheap chinese quality.
Lamb and ginger sauce - both me and my wife had to think deeply if we were eating lamb or not. I think it was but not very good. More of a mystery meat and the sauce was very lacking in ginger that made it taste generic.
General Tso Chicken - A cornerstone dish for most Chinese restaurants. Not only did the chicken taste old but there was zero spiciness and again tasted like generic sweet glaze. This is s running theme throughout the meal.
Honeywalnut Shrimp - My childhood favorite when visiting Gparents in Cali. Panda Express can do them up decent when fresh but few places can do it right. Frying Lemon is not one of them. Deep fried breading was soggy so with sauce didn't give any good texture. Also zero walnut taste in sauce. Again just generic sauce.
Hot and Sour Soup- just really strange and tasted funky. I usually love but I did not eat. Was unfortante.
Egg Flower Soup - Very chunky but was decent.
I don't want to just bash this place as the food was edible just disappointing.. We had some Melon Juice that tasted very fresh and was delicious but we ordered a pitcher and they forgot and only brought a glass which also sucked cause we would've gotten down.
Overall: Generic taste and low quality meat. I was going to just give this place a 2 star review but I made the mistake of having the rest of the leftovers that night and had to call out to work next day cause I felt like shit. Because of that I couldn't go back there in...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place but my experience here was not good.
The issues started right when we walked in. I was with my wife and kids—five of us in total including our 3mo baby. It was a cold night and instead of being seated right away or even acknowledged, we stood the cold entrance for at least five minutes while the staff just looked at us and went back to cleaning a table. No “we’ll be right with you,” no greeting—nothing. I had even called ahead 30 minutes prior to let them know we were coming, and they said it would be no problem.
The food itself was okay but surprisingly cold and not very fresh. The Chongqing chicken was loaded with numbing pepper. I took one bite and it was so overpowering that I couldn’t taste the rest of my meal properly. That was frustrating but even aside from that, I wish the food had just been served warmer.
The service was where this place really fell short. I asked for water, and they only brought some for the adults—not the kids. Napkins? I had to ask twice, and they didn’t arrive until the end of the meal. And at no point did anyone come to check on us after the food was served. It wasn’t even that busy, so there really wasn’t an excuse.
The one positive? The portion sizes for the price were great. But good value doesn’t make up for cold food and poor service. Unfortunately, this just isn’t a place I’d want to return to. They...
