Today was my first time here, with a friend who's gone many times and recommended it. I really cannot say enough great things about my experience! Even with all the anticipation, Cafe Makario exceeded my expectations! From the absolutely lovely cup and saucer mugs used to serve the drinks to the perfectly toasted bagel ("honey cream cheese bagel") to the relaxed, slightly moody atmosphere and thriving plants...and especially the service - I highly recommend this adorable coffee shop. There are many more menu items I plan to try! Today I ordered my usual London Fog Latte (made to Breve) and it was honestly the most fragrant, perfectly smooth & creamy, London Fog I've had ever. I picked up a cute mug for sale (at a great price!) by the counter and asked for my drink to be served in it. My friend ordered a Flower Latte which which had Raspberry syrup and edible rose petals. They served it in the perfect floral cup & saucer for her. We both had honey cream cheese bagels, which were quite surprisingly (because most places over toast in my opinion) perfectly toasted, soft bagel and whipped cream cheese topped with honey. ...
Read moreI truly can't say enough good things about Cafe Makario. I must've come here at least a dozen times, and if you can make it up there before they close for the day it's worth the trip. It's a cute spot, and gets a lot of sunlight. If you dine in they have an eclectic collection of coffee cups; it's always a fun surprise to see which one I'll end up with. The owner recommended me their Einspänner one visit and it's been my favorite coffee ever since, but we've also tried a good portion of their menu. My partner's favorite sandwich is the Basil Pesto Panini, but if you're looking for a vegetarian option I enjoy their croissants the most.
All of the drinks I've had have been some of the best I've tried in Everett because their coffee is delicious and they must be making their whipped cream in-house, but if I had to rank the rest their drinks the Cafe White Mocha would be next in line (love the grated chocolate!). Alternatively, the Flower Latte, Black Sesame Iced Latte, Butterfly Pea Tea, Honey Cinnamon Ginger Tea, and Dutch Sugarcomb are all great options if you're looking to try...
Read moreMy sister is currently experiencing a severe reaction to dairy that is painfully affecting her 1 month-old son who is being breastfed, meaning she am therefore completely avoiding any kind of dairy, even traces. She needed a place for the two of them to sit down and this place seemed nice and accommodating, so she ordered a latte with a dairy substitute. She didn't think she would need to watch it be made, but that same evening it was very clear her drink was made with dairy anyway; her son was up all night, writhing in pain, while she herself was very sick as well, so the presence of dairy was unmistakable. I know a lot of people ask for substitutes due to preference, but hers was due to allergy, and clearly either wasn't taken seriously or was misunderstood; the person who took her order was different than the person who brought her the coffee, which makes me wonder if wires got crossed. The coffee itself was beautiful so I hate writing a poor review, but this kind of mistake is dangerous and therefore completely...
