A staple for affordable and speedy bites. Recently came here on a whim and got the roast beef, pastrami sandwiches, and some fried clam strips. The roast beef itself was tender, though I found the seasoning rather straightforward. Adhering to popular choice, we topped it off with onions and crushed red peppers. While the peppers did inject some heat, they dominated with an unexpected intensity that nearly overshadowed the beef's flavors. The sandwich's bun, dense and doughy, was a bit underwhelming – personally leaning towards lighter, airier textures. However, considering the price point, the overall quality of the sandwiches exceeded my expectations. As for the Fried Clam Strips, they were decent. A quintessential Boston dish, Mike’s rendition is true to form. While satisfying, it doesn't particularly stand out in a city where fried clams are somewhat of a culinary rite of passage. If you're looking for a quick, wallet-friendly meal, it's certainly a spot worth considering.

3.0 Moo Cows out of 5.0 Ok so as planned, I took a trip to Mike's in Everett after work around 9pm and got the Super Beef Three Way. Overall I would say this beef was great, it tasted good and was warm. However it loses points for a few things. Sauce, appears to have plenty at first but halfway through I find myself searching for more and scooping it up off the wrapper. I peeled back the bread to reveal a completely dry backside. Loses points for that, but the sauce itself was really good. Beef, was served warm, had a great homemade flavor to it and was tender, but it was not rare like desired, was more of a medium. Loses points there, but this also partly my fault for ordering at 9pm. I bet it's much different around 5pm. Roll, it was freshly toasted, had plenty of buttery goodness, no complaints at all. Location, immediately outside of Boston off of 93 in the crappy part of Everett, however it's directly across from the new Wynn/Encore Casino, open until 2am everyday and because of that I expect it to become a real banger location that will be regularly slammed. Resulting in fresh beef at all hours of the day. All in all I give this beef a solid 3.0 Moo Cows, but that's partially because of my poor timing. I fully believe that I could get a medium rare beef with a 3.5 Moos on a good day around 5pm.
