First an foremost, I have to mention the most important reason that I am giving a stellar review to Rare. The people who are waiting on me, or hosting me, at a fine restaurant, can make or break the night, in my opinion. And, as in the casino, you can win or lose. You win BIG at Rare if you get Steven and Raphael. I can't leave out Dam because we like him as well, very much, but lately we have had Steven and Raphael. They work flawlessly, you are never ignored, and they are kind, courteous, and consistent. In some restaurants you wonder where your food is or where the waiter went with the bill. NEVER ever with Steven and Raphael. Top notch service always. Rare is open and continues to be our favorite restaurant at Encore! My fiance and I went to Rare on New Years Eve Day at about 3:30 for a bite and a drink. The staff greeted us in their customary polite and friendly manner and we were seated at a clean, linen covered table with a good distance from any other diners. Our waiter was there immediately with the menus and water, and took our order soon after that. We chose 3 appetizers and 2 drinks. As soon as he went to put in the order we had a plate of their amazing warm herbed bread and butter delivered, as well as a chef's special tasting. The tasting was wonderful and the bread was delicious, as usual! Our 3 apps arrived soon after. We had the crab cake, the shrimp cocktail, and a salad, of which name is escaping me. The crab cake is a no brainer. It's all crab, less 'cake' which I love. I cant stand crab cakes that are all Ritz crackers and this is not! The shrimp were HUGE and I think there were 5 and we may have left one on the platter. Bad move but we were getting full! And the salad was very good and had a wonderful dressing. All in all, once again, we were over the moon with the service, food, cleanliness, drinks, etc. This is a 5 star restaurant. And well deserved. Also, I think it is fair to give a nod to our favorite staff: Dom, Steven, Michael, Raphael, and Malik. All the staff are great but those fellows stand out to us. And as I stated, they are open for business during this time, and I would recommend getting a reservation.

Recent Visit 2/21: We went to Rare for dinner this past weekend and once again, we were over the moon with the food and the service. We (my husband and I) both love seafood and steak so we didn't know what way we were going. We ended up with the 'Petite" seafood tower and it was divine! It had oysters and littlenecks, lobster, tuna tartar, and huge shrimp. It was REALLY good and a lot of food. We also got a Caesar salad for him and I got the Baby Iceberg. I have had it before and I love the thick cut of warm bacon on top...so good. In addition to the items we ordered last night, I am mentioning items that we had last weekend as well. I forgot to do it and it is worth putting this out there. Get the side if fries! They are crispy on the outside and like an amazing mashed potato on the inside! And the side of Brussel Sprouts. They are grilled, and I don't know what they do but they have a sweet bacon flavor. Amazing! And last but not least is our go to favorite, which is the Chesapeake Bay Crab Cake. ALL CRAB, barely any filler, in this...

This experience was AWFUL. if I could rate negative stars I would. After all the hype and the talk. And the PRICES. This place is highly over rated and in my opinion not worth the money. Our waiter was rude from the moment we sat down. Constantly passing us by and ignoring myself and my girlfriend. To the point at a 5 star rated restaurant I had to ask for soda refills. After us both sitting with empty drinks for the better part of an hour waiting for our meal. When I finally got sick of waiting for our food ( it had been over an hour since ordering.) I asked another staff member to see what was up with our dinner. she went to the kitchen.. when she came back out she seemed to have been told something that she didn't want to tell us directly. So she found our waiter and yet again he made it clear he didn't care by throwing his hands up and saying loudly enough for both myself and my girlfriend to hear as well as all surrounding tables ("IT IS WHAT IT IS") as he walked to the kitchen himself to I assume confirm that our meals had been side tracked for other customers . After a few more minutes he made his way to our table and informed us that it would be out in just a few minutes, while making several excuses why we were waiting so long . After another 10 minutes and fed up with how our waiter was treating us I went to seek help from management. After asking the front desk for management I waited atleast another 10 to 15 minutes for the manager to appear. He was friendly and professional. After explaining the situation to the manager and expressing that we would much rather take our food to our room and eat there. He was able to talk me back to our table when I finally arrived back at our table our food had finally shown up moments before.(confirmed by my girlfriend that sat alone with no food while I went too seek a manager and take out box.) My plate of pasta and shredded ribs. Was ice cold and looked like it was tossed together in a back ally. My girlfriend who simply ordered the chicken and isn't one to complain 🙄.... Said hers was also cold and the chicken was chewy and "rubbery". Our waiter now informed that I was upset and contacted management was watching from behind another table and must have seen the discuste on our faces. Promptly came over to ask how our meals were.(us having only the one bite.) We both informed our waiter that the food was terrible and we were leaving. Very UNIMPRESSED with the service as well as the food. I'm my opinion spend your money on slots .....or McDonald's you'll get better food and won't pay outrageous prices for poor quality food. You'll just pay regular prices for low quality food at McDonald's but atleast the food will...

Came in from out of town and had very high expectations for this place on recommendation of a friend that lived in the area for years. We showed up about half an hour early to our reservation. And were seated within about 10 minutes of arriving. The host staff were very kind and welcoming. The place seemed fairly busy but not full by any means. The decor of the restaurant was very nice and clean. We were sat and greeted by our server about 5 minutes later. Overall the pace of the meal seemed very slow and drawn out to me. This may have been intentional for people wanting to have a slower paced meal to enjoy the environment but was longer than I personally cared for. The process to order wine to delivery was about 15 minutes. We were served bread that was phenomenal. The salads were good but nothing that was spectacular. I had the chopped a few others had the apple and not sure for the rest of the party. Our group was 7 people so had a variety of entrees. My wife had the filet which was cooked perfectly and was exactly the quality I would have expected for all of the entrees. I however, ordered the ribeye and my father had the strip. I never tried his strip but my ribeye I would be very surprised if it was anything more than a choice cut. With a price point of this restaurant I would expect prime for everything. I am from the midwest so may have a higher expectation of steaks and have had steaks at a lot of higher end establishments and there is no chance this was prime. My dad was of the same impression and was not impressed with it at all. The rest of the entrees I can not attest to. As for sides me and my wife shared the flight which consisted of the potatoe puree, butternut squash, and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese had good flavor but the cheese was almost curdled like it had been prepped at to high of a heat. The puree I can't say much good about it but can't say anything bad. It was fairly bland but did not taste bad. The squash again was okay but had no flavor and I was not impressed with it by any means. My largest complaint was we were sat by another table of 7 or 8 that were probably in their late 20s-early 30's that were extremely load to the point we could hardly have conversation at our own table. In a finer dining place like this, I would expect staff to control this to some degree to not affect tables around them. Overall, our party of 7 spent 1000+ not including the tip. I have had higher quality meals for half that price. I think there is a lot of potential here but at the price point it is at I'm not looking for growth I would...
