I’m not going to talk negative about the food because in that aspect they get a A+. Every time I have come to this location inMarlton it has been exceptional service however today was very frustrating.
We walked in as a party of 8 and of those 8 two were able to go in a high chair. When we approached the hostesses they first said they couldn't accommodate such a large party (but wait isn’t this a family restaurant?).
After some discussion, they then said it would be and hour to two hours. We decided to wait as one of the other party members was soon to arrive.
While waiting we observe a party before is consist of 6 and a party after us was a party of 2. I also noticed there was a booth of 10 and a two tables of 6 available. At this point we are thinking we’re going to be seated because it only makes sense to sit the party’s accordingly with the tables available. INSTEAD, the manager sits the party of 6 at the large table and sits the party of 2 at a six person table. Leaving us waiting even more with starving little children. I spoke to the manager about this and her explanation was that the party of 6 was originally a party of 7. However I said to her that the hostesses confirmed with the party that one person was missing.
As a FAMILY restaurant you would think they would consider the little children we have in our party but not only that, mostly that she could have had ALL parties seated and everyone would have been happy. Instead a table sat open and a loyal customer is now upset. I am someone who unfortunately to business owners will make sure others know my horrible experiences. As a manager Tiana needs some extensive training on running a business so that preventative problems like this do not occur.
I apologize for this review being very long but I needed everyone who might be thinking of stopping here to prepare themselves for a possible situation with poor hostess service and the Manager. Everything...
Read moreGood food but real service issues. My bottled beer sat, warming up on the bar while the server sat next to it on his phone for a full 2 minutes. When he finally dropped it off, I expected a cold mug or at least a glass, I got neither and he didn't wait around long enough to be asked. We ordered a pizza appetizer, salmon dinner and I ordered ravioli. I requested meat sauce and the waiter reacted as if he never heard of it. His reply was "yes it has sauce" Me: no I would like meat sauce please. Him: It does have sauce. Me; Just ask the cook to put meat sauce on it please. I got nothing but a blank stare. He moved on and just explained the food delivery method of any server may pick it up as soon as it gets plated. What happened was the pizza showed up same time as my dinner. i asked server to keep my meatless ravioli warm so we could eat the app. The reply was, Nope, we can't do that , we have no way to keep food warm. Pretty hard to believe but that's what he said. I waited for 7-8 minutes for my daughter's salmon before I ate my cold ravioli. Also, you get nothing with the meal except exactly what is stated on the menu. No bread. No salad. No Parmesan cheese. No shakers of garlic or peppers. They do not even have salt and pepper shakers. The way this place serves food is really strange but it is saved because the food is pretty good. Pizza was above average and my daughter said her salmon was very good and the last time she was there the cheese board was crazy good. My ravioli was ok. Prices are way to high for what you get but happy hour has some very good deals which is probably why it was busy when we were there, that and it being right next to...
Read moreThis restaurant has one of the most peculiar atmospheres. It feels like a disconnect because the LaScala’s group has great atmospheres and designs. This FIRE location is self touted as “light-filled modern decor”. If “modern” means unfinished then they nailed it. It feels like a dressed up interior of Costco. By “dressed up” I mean they painted the walls and added some modern lights and called it a day. It has these bizarre white walls with a black smokey wash making it look like a smoke damaged, gutted warehouse with fancy tables and chairs. If the it were an antique warehouse, or even just old feeling I think the design could work. Instead it feels like a very modern Costco that has been repurposed into a restaurant. The wide open, blank design is perfect for an echoey cacophony of sounds making conversation very difficult and impossible on a busy Friday or Saturday night. The layout feel incomplete as well. It’s wide open, no foyer/breeze way. This is problematic if you go in winter because at every open of the door all the diners are greeted by a chilling blast of cold air that is free to blow where ever it wants to. I was bummed after the redesign was complete, hoping they’d address some of those disconnects only to find they just made it bigger, louder, and it’s still freezing in the winter.
The food is enjoyable, but not much else to enjoy here. I’d recommend going in the spring-fall months so you can grab an outdoor table and enjoy...
