Rose's Place: Lebanese Cuisine — Restaurant in Fair Lawn

After passing by this quaint little spot many times over the years, it occurred to me that I might be missing out on something really good. I've been trying hard to eat more health consciously, and to be honest, have gotten tired of the same old haunts. Tonight was the night - I ordered through Grubhub, after carefully perusing the menu. I ordered grilled jalapeño with garlic and lemon dressing to start, followed by one meatless entree, Imam Bayaldi (eggplant, garlic, onions and tomatoes over rice), and tried the baby Lamb chop entree as well. Dinner arrived in 45 minutes, securely packaged and hot! The verdict? "Omg, where have you been all my life?!" Simply outstanding! Delightfully different, flavors like fireworks in my mouth! Visible, mouthwatering slivers of garlic, seasoned generously (caution- if you like bland food, dislike garlic and can't stand the heat, you're in the wrong kitchen!!!) Portions were very generous, (5) baby rib lamb chops were tender (though I will request it rare next time), my preference. Some type of sour cream-like condiment served on the side cut the heat nicely, while adding a hint of flavor. It will take a couple of days to consume the ample amount of food I received, and I look forward to every bite! Prices for the food I felt were MORE THAN FAIR, given the quality of the ingredients, the obvious talents of the chef/chefs, and the generous portions. SO GLAD I FINALLY GAVE ROSE'S PLACE A TRY!!!! In this pandemic time you don't want to give 1 star to businesses because I know they are struggling. But people if you don't know how to run a restaurant...I called I thought that was the Fair Lawn location. My mistake I called Englewood. She said come after 30 min. So I went, obviously Fair Lawn says I made a mistake. You have to call and cancel the order in Englewood. I did... she said I don't have an order from you. I said is there anybody other than you answers the phone? She said no just me, and told me maybe I dial other location. I said I re-dial that means I was calling you. She denied that I called. Anyway all of these happened I got my order from Fair Lawn. I ask for a salad, he said "I only have one size of salad". I said ok... then looked at me and said which one small or large? I was like what happen to these people! The driest kofta I've ever had. Hummus nothing special, salad, watery instead of olive oil. Never spend my money in this place again. You can't beat Stefano's Kofta...

Yearning for Middle Eastern food than then look no further. The restaurant is an oasis, peaceful and immaculately clean. Arabic music played on the sound system low enough to have comfortable conversation. The dining room glowed from the sunshine filtering in. The TVs were off and really unnecessary. Our server was super sweet, warm and funny. Definitely made us feel at home and never kept us waiting. Now as for the cuisine, it was delish! Authentic Lebanese cuisine and so savory that you are guaranteed to finish it all (and the portions are generous). The spreads are incredible, especially the Toum (lookout though it is VERY garlicky). My absolute favorite was the Kufta with Tahini however the Shish Tawook Platter was out of this world!
