I read the reviews before I came so I expected it to be attached to a gas station plaza. Nice vibe on the inside which makes you feel like you’re not in a gas station Plaza. Could use some more lighting, enough daylight coming in for me. Only the bartender was the server when I arrived after 2 PM on a Monday. One other customer and she took care of us both easily. The menu seemed large, there were a lot of shrimp and tilapia options which I don’t prefer. I always look for snapper instead, but I didn’t see that.
Lemon pepper garlic Wings- 10/10. Six wings for $10 was good value. The sauce taste authentic and you can see the nice garlic chunks. Perfectly crispy fried and the wings taste fresh I’d ordered these again.
Fries-good choice of fries with good seasoning/tasty. A little oily
Steak Arepa- 8/10 good value, loaded with meat. Tasty Arepa bread and nice avocado ranch sauce. The meat could’ve been more tender and sliced in a way that’s easier to chew. The container was chopped onions, tomatoes, and cilantro with overpowering jalapeño.
Tuna Ceviche-10/10 she said it was spicy, but it’s not that spicy. It’s like hot sauce spicy. It’s very tasty. I know you think I’m brave for trying ceviche from a restaurant connected to a gas station. I thought it was great. I’m going to check my stomach the next day to see but so far so good with the chips and avocado. This was the only ceviche without shrimp.
Birria tacos-9/10. I thought I asked for no cheese, but they still came with cheese. Please check your food before you leave if you make an alteration. The meat was tasty and the taco shell was a good choice. The Birria dip sauce was flavorful, but it is oily so be careful not to spill. Green sauce good.
I’d come back here/recommend and try a few more options like the steak and a few other taco options. Good parking availability, when it gets packed you may have to be creative with parking. No major complaints really. Wanted more veggie options. In a different location, they’d probably be...

I stopped in for some fried shrimp tacos and I was not disappointed. Definitely gives me the Baja California vibes. The tacos were really good and the rice was really good as well. Definetly ask for some salsa on the side or you'll only get the spicy crema sauce which is like a spicy aoli. Ask for some limes too.
Place was clean and bar looked nice. They have liqour and beer.
Side Note because I could not let it slide: I seen someone on the reviews saying this was a Cuban restaurant. This is not true. First off a Cuban restaurant will likely not have many if any beef or fish dishes. This is because in Cuba, fish and beef are illegal as deemed so by the government despite being surrounded by the carribean sea. The people can only have pork or chicken in Cuba. Also you would have maduros(plantains)and bleackbeans with every meal and that is not the case at the Golden Bite.
Another clue that tells me this is a Mexican restaurant is that there are Micheladas(a spicy beer bloody mary type drink) and there are birria tacos(which I will definetly try on my next visit) and spicy food.
Cuban food is not spicy at all and in fact a lot of Cubans do not like spicy food.
I can attest to all of this because I myself am Mexican American and I know...
Read moreTerrible experience here! I visited here about two weeks ago with my friend. It all started when we ordered margaritas and told the server (Mary) that there wasn’t enough flavor. Instead of her just adding more flavor to satisfy the customer, she charges us a dollar each for a “sauce” cup of flavor. My friend asked Mary about the charge on the receipt and she IMMEDIATELY got an attitude. Long story short my friend is a frequent customer and spent over $60 here… but she wasn’t satisfied with the service, so she tipped only $1. We had two separate tabs, and I tipped! As we were walking out, instead of just ignoring the $1 tip, Mary comes outside behind us and places the dollar on the ledge of the restaurant! Very unprofessional to say the least. I’ve been a server before and some people won’t tip AT ALL, but this definitely isn’t...
