Lindenwald Station — Restaurant in Fairfield

Today I went in for lunch I walked in my two kids and I. I saw a couple waiting to be seated so I went and sat down next to them then the host walked over and asked me for my name to be put on a waiting list to be seated. the couple got up and were seated so I was next in line , then a family of four walk then and sat next to us. The host came And Sat the family of four Before me and my kids the family question the host why I wasn’t sat before them since I was there first and he said I will be seated soon and he Chuckled ( At this point I would’ve left But my 3 year old son really likes trains so he was having a fantastic time) . Then I got seated And I sat there for 10 minutes without any drinks or even a waitress to even come up to me.. The family of four was being served there drinks and the mother even mouthed me “I’m sorry “ since I have not yet been serviced at all When the waitress came and took my drinks might I say the family of four at this point we’re getting their food and I made my order and Received my food which I ordered the chicken deluxe sandwich so as I was eating my sandwich I realized the chicken was not even cooked Towards the end and I called over the Waitress and I guess she went and got the head waitress so I told the head waitress that my chicken was undercooked and she agreed and took the plate from in front of me to the back then came back telling me that the chicken was cooked right which clearly it was undercooked and I told her no it was under Cooked and she gave me a sarcastic look and said whatever you say! She ended up taking it off my check but the fact that she Agree with me that it was under cooked then three seconds later she tried to tell me it was cooked is super rude so I would not being going back Terrible service I will make sure to tell everybody I know of how bad it is and how rude the staff is! And I will be contacting the health department since they think that undercooked chicken was cook right lol Terrible terrible terrible service and the food...

Everyone loved this place! It's like an upgraded family dinner. Here’s why:

Our youngest ordered pancakes and bacon. Usually she eats the bacon and picks at the pancakes, but this time she devoured most of the pancakes. I sampled them, and they were perfect - thick, but fluffy - not dense and heavy.

Our eldest ordered chicken fingers and fries and she loved both. But this was not your average kids meal. You could tell the fries were fresh cut, with a little skin left on them. Crispy outside, but soft inside. She declared them better than fast food fries. The chicken tenders were mostly chicken breast with very little breading, and she loved those too. (Usually it's opposite - a ton of breading with very little chicken.) She also tried the Texas style chili and enjoyed it.

I had a breakfast wrap (which was delicious) with a fruit cup that had fresh apples diced up with fruit cocktail. Perfect side item.

We also loved that the portion sizes were just right - not huge, not small - just normal portions. We didn't walk away with leftovers or overstuffed.

High priority for us - the bathroom was super clean too!

We had fun watching the trains go around the track too. :)

We don't get to Hamilton often, but I know that when we're there, we will be going back to this perfect...

I'm from out of town, so I wasn't familiar with restaurants in town. Found Station on Google and thought I'd try it since it was close to where I was working. There were no signs telling me to seat myself or wait to be seated. I wanted to place a carry-out order, so I walked to the counter.

And waited.

And waited some more.

And waited some more for someone to acknowledge me and take my order.

There was another man standing there when I walked in, and no one bothered to help him either. There was a young girl behind the counter sipping on a drink who could have helped, but she didn't. There were several servers walking around who could have helped, but didn't. There was a man who came in and out of the kitchen who could have helped, but he didn't.

I gave up after ten minutes and went to a fast food place instead. When I'm out of town, I like trying new places that I can't get back home, and I like to support local businesses, but Lindenwald Station failed miserably and lost a customer forever.

One star because zero stars...
