Update , I went for lunch and a birthday dinner back to back this week here. I loved every bit of it. The staff which is always amazing made us feel so welcome. Vinny and Oscar are just amazing when it comes to the waiting of tables. very polite, and informative and they make sure you are happy and satisfied. The food was absolutely delicious as always. I truly appreciate a space where I am welcomed and taken care of and I can always count on that here at Sophies. I have been wanting to try this place . So here we are , I was greeted warmly . I wanted to dine at the bar for a solo dinner. The atmosphere was busy , btwn the bar and dining area. Let’s get to this food, I started with the garlic cheese bread , with a side of vodka sauce . I have to say it was the best cheesy garlic bread I’ve ever had in a while. For my main course I had the lobster raviloi and it was so bomb.com! So cheesy and saucy. For dessert I had affogato which a perfect ending. My server/ bartender was Tyler he was great! They do have happy during day hrs and also 6pm to close . I’ll def be returning .

Superficial and annoying best sums up this place. I’ve come now 3x over the past year and every time I leave upset so hence the review and it’s the little dumb things that the rookies up front don’t understand. Order a chicken Parm dish and ask for extra sauce and see how they respond. They think you’ve asked for a grant or something. See attached picture. And this isn’t a one time occurrence. It has happened to be 3x and I have thrown in the towel and frankly…what are we talking about here - tomatoes/garlic/olive oil some salt and water. It’s absurd. Just frigging charge me $5-10 bucks if I ask for extra sauce but yet you argue with me that it’s baked into the dish (false) and then hand me a 1-2 ounce container. It’s insulting. Grow up. Go visit any respectable Italian restaurant in NY and if you happen to need extra sauce you receive a cup or bowl. That’s the way it should be. I would comment on other dishes but it’s not with any additional brain cells.

We were excited to try Sophie's as we heard great things about it, but overall I was a little disappointed. The staff and atmosphere where great. Food was good, but not really worth the 15 minute drive from Westport. As a pizza place, it wasn't nearly as good as Brick+Wood, which had occupied the space previously. I'd rather go to Parlor Pizza in Wilton. If I'm driving to Fairfield for non-pizza food, I'd rather go to nearby Sinclair's, which is from the same ownership as Sophie's and has an equally good atmosphere with better food. The final point solidifying the four star rating is that they don't offer Diet Coke, only regular Coke. This was more of an issue for my wife than it was for me, but it's odd that a sophisticated place with experienced ownership wouldn't offer something so standard. According to the server, they weren't just out of Diet Coke, they didn't offer it by choice. You'll have a decent time if you go, but I won't be rushing back.

Speaking from the experience of 3 restaurant owners who came to enjoy a nightcap after an excellent meal in a neighboring establishment, it pains me to write a negative review- however I am compelled. It should be noted that there is an expectation of professionalism and courtesy in this industry that was blatantly lacking this evening when the bartender decided to take away 1/2 full glasses of wine and digestive drinks and proceeded to wipe down the bar top in front of us and ask us if we wanted any take away cups. Albeit there was an obvious sense of urgency from both the bartender and her supervisor/ manager to close at 10 pm, a genuinely pleasant and courteous manager supervising would not have allowed this rudeness from a specific bartender named Pria. Let alone once we “got the hint”, we gathered ourselves to leave and informed the young bearded manager of the inconsiderate attitude of his staff. His response was solely “ok” and only minutes later did the bartender had the nerve to drive in the parking lot at a dangerous speed gunning the engine of her little SUV very close to us. It is quite a shame and disappointing that staff members of a newly owned and operated pizza bar represent this establishment in such a way. It was not our first time here, actually have liked to dine and wine here previously since they opened- but will decline any further invites and not recommend until ownership makes adjustments- because sadly our employees represent us owners … many who have a vested interest and dedication to superior service and quality. Hopefully there will be swift action to eradicate negative impacts, correcting attitudes and encouraging employees to respect patronage of customers - it’s hard enough to stay afloat as it is in...

We recently visited Sophie's for a birthday celebration, having had a wonderful lunch experience there in January. Unfortunately, this visit fell short of our expectations.

Service Issues:

Upon arrival, the waitress seemed dismissive and unaccommodating when a drink order wasn't available. While we understand it was a busy Friday night, a smile would have been appreciated.

We were surprised to learn bread wasn't included with dinner, especially at an Italian restaurant.

When requesting a dessert menu to celebrate the birthday we mentioned in the reservation, the waitress appeared annoyed and reluctant.

Food:

The overall quality of the food was decent, but the lobster ravioli lacked the advertised lobster, only containing cheese and a small side tail. As a side note, the chocolate lava cake was the best thing we had tasted all evening!

Overall, the service significantly detracted from our experience. While we appreciate the challenges of a busy night, the waitress's inattentiveness and negative demeanor created an unwelcome atmosphere. This was especially disappointing considering our initial positive experience and the birthday occasion. We left Sophie's disappointed and certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone for dinner service.

PS: We appreciate the wonderful lunch experience we...

We decided to host a going away party for a coworker here. We are a normal group of people, not causing any type of disturbance, enjoying our cocktails. Then around 8pm the manager comes over to myself and two of my black coworkers and tells my black coworker that they needed to leave. We asked why- we weren't being loud. We were near the bar having a normal conversation. The manager responds, "We don't want your type here- looking directly at my darker black coworker." We refuse to leave. Then the manager says to me (I am white), "now I'll have to kick you out too." I said "please call the police as this is a violation of our rights and we didn't do anything wrong." And proceeds to call the police on my black coworkers. They were clearly racially profiled and escorted out by police. I'm just so angry and disappointed in the conduct of the restaurant owners and management at this establishment. My coworkers then went nearby to the other restaurant (the Sinclair) owned by the same people and AGAIN were racially profiled and asked to leave. None of my coworkers will ever go here again and we will tell everyone including the Department of Justice what happened that night. This is totally unacceptable and utterly embarrassing, nevermind illegal. Do not go here....
