My expectations were set at a fair level before I entered. I was greated by the staff and was sat down at a clean dark-colored table. The ambiance was nice because there was alot of space width, height, length wise. The walls were painted with black with art that resembled japanese culture and a game my grandma used to play called Go-Stop or Hanafuda.
The menu has a large variety of items to choose from.
When eating at a Japanese restaurant, I usually order 2 parts, sushi and kitchen food. I ordered 2 pcs of salmon, YT, Ikura, nigiri. The ikura was was not squished and lightly salty in taste, and the nori was crisp which are all good signs of freshness. The salmon and YT hung a bit over the rice, which is good although, they use less rice than I was expecting and usually should have a nibble of wasabi between the slice of fish and rice. In general, the sushi tasted fresh and the rice wasn't warm.
As for the kitchen food, I ordered a Tonkatsu lunch box. It's actually a pretty good deal considering the amount of food you pay for. 2 pc Gyoza, rice, salad, a cali roll with rice on the outside, and tonkatsu (pork cutlet). My tonkatsu was alittle over-cooked, but that didn't take away from the tenderness of the pork, so I can't be upset about that.
My overall experience agrees with 5-stars and I am most likely to revisit. It was worth...
Read moreNeeded a new local sushi spot and I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Came in on a Sunday night without reservations and were seated right away. Everything was very good. We ordered the tempura platter as an appetizer which came with w pieces of shrimp, a sweet potato, a zucchini, an onion ring and a carrot. We had few specialty rolls (#36, #1, #6). I appreciated they had pictures next to their specialty rolls. My only gripe was that the fish on one of the rolls was really cold. We also ordered sashimi. The fatty tuna and salmon were actually my favorites. They only have bottled water for purchase so we just ended up getting green tea which was at no cost. For dessert we had matcha mochi and vanilla fried ice cream which was a perfect way to...
Read moreI seen that this place just opened and I was in the mood for some ramen. I called in my order of spicy miso ramen with vegetables lunch special. The man said it came with rice but I didn't want rice and he allowed me to get a side salad instead.
When I arrived I found parking in the plaza parking lot. I seen in the window there was a 20% grand opening discount and instead of paying about $12 it went down to a little over $9 which was great. I paid the nice man and left. When I dug in I really liked the salad and the dressing they gave with it. It was very fresh and tasty. The ramen was ok, just a little bland. The amount of spice was good but I had to add some season salt for some more flavor. Besides the blandness, all in all I had a...
