Fairfield Hot Bagel — Restaurant in Fairfield

*UPDATE There seem to be changes for this store. They have hired a new worker and made some physical improvements to the store. Several refrigeration units have been replaced and the service has improved. Capital investments are always welcome.I now stop in several times a week for a morning bagel. BUT the grill still has not been cleaned, at least not under the hood. There are still drips of grease from over the years. So I restrict my purchases to the bagels and prepared foods. I would buy other things, but will decline until the grill is cleaned.

I hope they get this message. I am a regular morning customer, but recently I noticed that the cleaning has dropped off. There are grease drippings on the grill and my eyes sting when I enter the store... I assume it is due to poor or lack of ventilation.

I love the food, and the prices, and the service... but I can't get over the cleaning issues. I hope they get sorted out, but I am taking a break for...

I thought i was getting a pork roll sandwich ( or taylor ham )...i don’t know what what was on that sandwich, but it was like no pork roll (taylor ham) i have ever eaten before. I have lived in new jersey my entire life and take my pork roll (taylor ham) very seriously. To the point where i even go to the Pork Roll Festival in Trenton. This tasted like old hot dogs blended in with left over sandwich meat and then smashed into a patty made to look like pork roll. We had been paving all morning and i was so hungry and so looking forward to a pork roll sandwich that i was half way through before i realized that what i was eating tasted horrible and that i should probably stop eating it. I politely asked for a dozen Everything bagels. The man I asked ran to the back and told his boss. His wife and I were up front and heard a very loud crashing noise and a scream. She went back to see what happened and came back to me and said the owner was very upset that I once again ordered a dozen bagels( I have ordered like this about 4 times a year over the last 5 years). She told me to me to stand at the front of the store. I offered to call the night before if there is a problem about ordering a dozen. It was obvious to me and his wife that he was furious at me. I’ll never, ever, step foot in that store again. What happened to the business phrase “the Customer is Always right”? I took the dozen and left the store for...
