This place has deteriorated faster than Enron, Chia Pets and OJ Simpson's career post-murder trial... if you're looking for a mediocre dining experience with great decor you've come to the right place.
What's sad is that this place used to be good. I actually worked at this location a few years back on their drahma team (guys who slaps veggies and meat on plates for line cooks).
Back then, they served lamb, duck, steak, and properly flavored fried rice.
Now... they they serve none of those things I mentioned. Unless of course you count their seasonal menu, in which case, the pictures and branding will probably be better than the actual taste of the food you purchase.
The only thing more consistent than the Changs Chicken here is the fact that every time this place gets sold to private equity or gets a new set of investors the food quality and choices plummet.
Now they have "Chinese fried chicken"
Hurray. Give me back the good tasting Chinese food. If I want friend chicken, I'll go to a place that does that all the time. If I come to your establishment I want tasty and mostly clean Chinese food. You guys have lost your mission. All you care about is profit. Give me a unique dining experience again.
Some notes for the onsite staff:
Why do you steam the veggies for your vegetable fried rice and not toss them in sauce? The only person I would serve an unflavored steamed vegetable to is my enemy and "maybe" my child who is going through baby led weaning (someone who can't scream back at me because they have no language).
The Mongolian beef was stiff and leathery. It used to be soft and pleasant to chew... which tells me you no longer use good flank steak or your line cooks aren't doing their job and overcooked it. *We were one of only 5 other families in the restaurant so the fact that there's even a chance of this particular dish being overcooked is terrifying to me. How do you overcook something with hardly any tickets in the window?
The fried rice was terrible
I mean... it was bad. Like, so bad I don't think I would ever come back. Fried rice should be dark (regular sauce) or golden brown (GF sauce)... this particular GF fried rice was almost still white. It's like they didn't even bother to throw sauce on it. Don't worry though, you gave me plenty of GF soy sauce packets so I could sauce it myself.
This is pure laziness and the cost cutting here is sending you all into a hole. You always wanted to beat out Cheese Cake Factory and now you have... but in completely the...
Read moreService was excellent, the manager was very cooperative, very professional, and made sure we were comfortable upon the decision that she made to us. But the food was not that well "tasteful". The leafy lettuce that came with the lettuce wrap appetizer was extremely wet. The lettuce wrap appetizer came back tasting kind of burnt it did not have any texture to it. The presentation to this appetizer did not look satisfied. It was diced completely very small, like it was tossed in a walker and served on the plate with cellophane dry noodles. Another words it looked like it was made up ahead of time and not prepared as requested. The spring rolls were very good. But the presentation didn't please us. The shredded cabbage and carrot sticks, that the 4 spring rolls came on, were very dry looking, didn't taste well, like they had been sitting out all day all night. As far as the decor, it was very cozy but the carpet sure needs to be replaced it was dingy, sticky in a lot of areas. You sure wouldn't want to ware your socks on it. One thing I did observe is that a waiter, that was standing in the archway where they input the order from the customer, had dropped a small stack of to-go containers on the floor instead of the him throwing them away he put the stack back on the counter. That area looked somewhat disgusting and needed cleaned up. The woman's bathroom needed a lot of attention. Where I suggested to sit, the table was bare. And I noticed some surrounding tables were bare where I was sitting, hi towards the middle of the dining room and behind me. And I have a question as to when the bus girl or boy cleans up after the customer has left why can't he replenish the table with napkins and silverware and wine glasses, like I observed in the front section near the welcoming counter, when I was leaving which I got there approximately 7:30 pm and left approximately 9:00. Final comment is: The tasting of the food nor the presentation was anything near the good taste of food that I had experience in other PF...
Read moreIt had been awhile since I had eaten at PF Chang's. We were in the area so we decided to stop in. It was 2:30 in the afternoon, so the restaurant was quiet. We were greeted and seated promptly. I ordered a glass of wine and we ordered ordered the lettuce wraps and shrimps dumplings as well as shrimp tempura sushi. My wife received her ice water promptly and the server stated she had to go to bar to pick up my win. That took almost ten minutes in an empty restaurant. The server then brought our lettuce wraps. They were acceptable but the portion size was small. Next followed a plate of shrimp dumplings. When we ordered our choice was steamed or pan fried. Our server recommended the pan fried which was good, unfortunately the filling was non descript and we had a hard time deciding if we got the asked for shrimp or if it was chicken. The filling was like a puree and did not taste like shrimp. To save the best for last, our sushi arrives as a tempra California roll. When we told the server it wasn't right, she asked how we knew. I pointed out Shrimp Tempura is not made with crab salad. She said she would replace it. She was back a minute later with the replacement because "the cooks are new and realized they had made the sushi wrong". The replacement left a lot to be desired. It was shrimp rolled in rice. The forgot the tempura part and there was no sauce. Needless to say we each only had one piece. The server did offer to not charge us for the sushi, but I felt that since we had eaten 4 out of 12 pieces, two from the first roll and two from the second roll, I should pay for it. Our bill before tip was $50. I rated the food a three because it marginal at best. I rated the service a three because the server was just going thru motions and really didn't care about...
