Momma's House Treats and Eats — Restaurant in Fairview Heights

Wasn't really looking for a restaurant that specializes in home cooking/comfort food, but this one popped up online in Fairview Heights Illinois. Looked promising so I found it and decided to give it a chance. OMG!! Walking in the door, the 1st thing to hit me was a smell of deliciousness 😋, the owners met me and we introduced ourselves, got the story of who they are and what they want to do here. (Did I mention the awesome smell?), I am impressed by their vision and plans for this place. So many things to be offered to the customers on a rotating basis. I simply ordered an Italian beef sandwich and some fried rice. Mild Giardinara on the beef, mind you, they do NOT advertise this as a Chicago Italian beef, so the Giardinara was a pleasant surprise! Anyway, a short wait and my to go order was ready. The smell is fantastic!! When I opened it at home, still hot and fresh! I barely remember what happened to the sandwich, it was gone!! This restaurant had delicious food and ice cream and bubble teas. I asked for a refund after being given $7 “bubble tea” (the most I have ever paid for bubble tea) because it was not even real bubble tea. Even though it was overpriced, I still tipped. This place kept the tip after giving me my refund? That is borderline predatory and 100% unprofessional. I’d avoid this place. I am honestly floored at how unprofessional they were. The guy was hostile toward me from the minute I walked in. I literally waited 10 minutes for the bubble tea.
