This place is usually pretty good. Much better then the one in Middletown RI that's for sure. They have a drive through that's open late. The inside closes early though. And they're usually friendly. The food is usually good too. And if you think that the food is always the same at all of them. Unfortunately. You would be wrong.
Last time I went there it was late. Got there about 15 minutes before the inside closes, but 1 hr and 15 minutes before the store/drive through closes. They were obviously not happy, and let me know right away they were closing soon. I asked dude if I could eat in there. He said yes, but then a girl handed me the food and said "just to let you knew we close in 10 minutes". Neither were very friendly about it. In fact they seemed very unhappy overall, and there were no smiles to be found that night. I always smile at my customers, and I've had them tell me they come to my job because they aren't going to spend their hard earned money in a place that's not pleasant to be in. Attitude is everything.
I've worked in restaurants for over 32 years. So I know the deal. They want to clean up. But they made a big deal out of it, and they had the dining room clean real quick anyway. It's a few minute job. Never worked at a place that did this, unless it was at the end of our legal hours to be open, and we had to, or risk our business license. This was certainly not the case here. And I can assure you that the person who owns it would not want them to do this.
It's all about the customers, not the employees folks. You'll live if you have to wait a few minutes more to clean, or go home. Or whatever. I've worked with people like this that I've had to back them off and tell them to be nice. And I go to other places all the time late that never do this. I don't go last minute, unless I have to. I just got off work myself AAMOF. Otherwise I would have been there earlier.
And unfortunately the food wasn't that great, and upset my stomach. They did give me 4 tenders instead of 3. Which was nice. And I'll still go there, because this isn't normal for this location. Everyone has a bad night. I get it. But the manager really needs to explain to the workers that it's not polite, and it certainly doesn't make people want to go there late when they know they're going to be rushed and have trouble enjoying their meal.
I'm sure some people will read this, and think I'm being too picky or whatever. But just know that I do this same job for a living, and go out of my way to make people happy 6 days a week myself. I don't expect the same level of service I give, because I'm much more experienced then most people. But I do expect them to try, and to be polite. Oh, and to smile. I always do no matter what's going on. The customers deserve that. And I never forget that they can eat anywhere they want to. Without them I...
Read moreThis is one of the worst KFC locations I've ever been to. The young people that work in the store don't understand customer service, and I can tell why, because the managers don't even see that something's wrong. This is the only restaurant in the entire city where there could be a dining room full of people who have not been served, yet every employee is focused on the drive-thru, or walking around trying to look fake busy. Don't order through the quick pickup window. They will leave your food sitting there getting cold and soggy in a sealed back that collects a bunch of moisture condensation and makes your food a wet lukewarm mess. It's disgusting that they do this, it's not a food safety measure I don't know who even came up with that. It's silly that it's supposed to be a quick pick up menu but no one is ever at the front cash register or at the counter where the quick pick up booth is. There's nothing quick about it. Your best bet is to just use the drive-thru. Unless you want to be standing around staring into space while people pretend you are invisible. At the drive-thru they can't ignore you, and that area of the store seems to be their only concern anyway. What's up with these restaurants not putting all of the things that are on the order receipt into the bag? If I order something that comes with a dip or sauce and I tell you what sauce is requested, then sauce is part of my order. I paid for the sauce, it is factored into the full order total are the company when they set the prices of the meals. What makes these people think that they are giving it to me as a courtesy or a gift? If it's not in the bag then the order is incomplete. If someone orders tenders or nuggets, you put the sauce in the bag. Even a child understands that. Not these people! Thanks for the bag of wet soggy...
