Troy City Brewing — Restaurant in Fall River

I have not visited this business personally, but I feel compelled to leave a review based on my interaction with the owner.

I came across a post online about a cat that had been stuck in a tree for three days. I brought wet food, treats, water, and a carrier to try to help. When I arrived, I met a woman who had been trying to get the cat rescued and showed me where it was stuck. I saw the cat—clearly terrified—high up in a tree from a nearby yard.

I approached the homeowner, explained the situation, and politely asked if I could access her backyard. She refused, saying her dogs would go crazy. I then asked if she would allow a professional to enter the yard to rescue the cat, and she still said no, citing liability concerns and fear of being sued. I told her I understood as a fellow homeowner, but I couldn’t understand how someone could sleep at night knowing a cat had been suffering in a tree for three days without doing anything.

She then asked me to leave her property, which I did—though I did express how upsetting I found her lack of compassion.

Later, after speaking with the cat’s owner, I learned that not only had this woman denied her access to try to retrieve her own pet, but she had also lied for two days, claiming the cat wasn’t in her tree. However, she admitted to me that she had seen the cat and knew how long it had been there and approximately how high up it was.

If you care about animals, I would urge you to think twice before supporting a business run by someone who shows so little empathy for a helpless creature...

We found this cute place last night. The beer was great (a little different from the styles back home). Our waitress Sharon was awesome! Very funny, happy and knowledgeable about the beer. Also recommended the buffalo chicken dip which was awesome. Then the rain came! Sharon helped move people to the dry sections and still was running in and out bringing people beer (yes in the pouring rain). A canopy actually collapsed on the couple next to us and she remained calm, got them inside as she fetched their personal belongings, beers and food! She killed it! I was laughing because as we sit here at our hotel we realized in the the middle of a thunder storm she managed to talk us into a four pack of the blonde ale and a souvenir glass to go! What a great place, great beer and great staff! Wish we lived closer....

Troy City Brewing is a hidden gem 5 Star brewery. The best NEIPA i've ever tried was their 7 Hillz. The Maplecroft Porter was absolutely delicious and the Wellington Imperial Stout... Wow! Just Wow!! Keith is on top of his game, crafting well balanced, delicious drinking beers. Cindy and Alex are super friendly and shared the history and meaning of their namesake and beers. Highly recommend if you're in the Fall Rivers area. We'll miss you from Long Island, but we'll definitely be back! Keep cranking out...
