Today I had the worst dining experience I’ve ever had— of anywhere. I’m pregnant and asked nicely if the tartar sauce was pasteurized. The waitress said she would check and bring me something else with my fish and chips if it wasn’t. The food was done and we watched it sit on the counter for a good 5-10 mins while the waitresses gabbed with each other behind the bar as the cook repeatedly dinged the bell. When it arrived, I asked if they checked if it was pasteurized. They said they forgot to check and would look. Another 10 mins go by and she still hasn’t told us. In the meantime, I realize they gave me regular fries instead of the truffle fries I ordered. She eventually comes back and tells me she can just have the now very cold fries “truffled.” And they have no idea if the tartar is pasteurized. I asked if they can make new fries. She makes me remove my fish from the plate to take away the regular fries that they brought me. At the same time, my husband bites into his flatbread only to get a mouthful of plastic wrap. At this point, my husband just wants to eat somewhere else, so he says just take it away and remove the flatbread from the bill. The waitress rolls her eyes. Then the kitchen starts heckling us through the window that they can remake the flatbread. Finally, the bill comes and the waitress says she “comped the flatbread.” Not really sure how you can “comp” an item when the person ate literally two bites. She runs away very quickly and doesn’t come back. My husband walks up to the register to ask if they’re going to do anything to rectify the horrible experience. The waitress gets extremely rude and tells my husband that she sees people try to “get free food from them all the time.” She says can’t do anything, but that we can wait around until her manager gets in later in the day. Needless to say, we paid the full bill and left, never to return again. As a local, I’ve eaten here many times before and it was great. I always bring friends and family to the Dive Bar when they visit. Way to...
Read moreHi, My family (me,my husband, and 2 sons age 4 &16) went to Quahog Republic yesterday. The food was good, we had buffalo wings, nachos for appetizers. For our main dish I had clam chowder with Lg lobster roll my oldest son had lobster grill cheese and my youngest son had a small box of cheese pizza, my husban didn't order anything because he was planning to share the lobster roll with me. Our total was 179.00. We were the only back ppl seated, there was a black Jamaican cook guy in the back who came out to say hi to my family and make a little joke with my youngest son and compliment his dread locs. The waitress ask my husband and I to pay our bill before our main course meal came out. I thought that was weird, rude and very uncomfortable request. She claimed she was leaving her shift and wanted to "close out". That was a lie! Me and my husband paid and tip and watch her continue working, we stayed in the restaurant for an additional 30-40min to watch her work and never approach our table again. My husband was really upset and wanted to call her out for her racist ways but I stopped him because I imagine the staff there would defend her and turn my husband into a villain. She obviously made us pay because she thought we couldn't afford our food (you know all black ppl must not have money so they steal...). smh! I get that vibe from this town anyways but the waitress validate my suspicion. As the food could of been better the situation left a horrible taste in my mouth. We are in 2023 it's soo lame to be racist, especially since the waitress was a young lady maybe in her 20s. Some times I can understand, not except from old ppl that are stuck in their ways but there is no...

We were not sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves or wait. We wandered into the game room then back to the bar side before being seated. Facility- One room is a small dive bar with bar seating and tables. The adjoining room is a game room with pool tables and some games. The restrooms are located between the rooms.
