Cashiers can’t do basic math.
Before anything was rang up, I confirmed split payments were possible. Cashier said yes. Total was $12.83, I asked to pay with $5 in cash and the rest ($7.83) on my card. I realized the smallest bill I had was a $10, so I asked for two 5’s. The cashier put $5 as the total on the screen and asked me to swipe my card. I politely told her that I needed it the other way around. She told me to “just swipe my card.” When I did the mental math and tried telling her I needed $7.83 on my card, she said why don’t we just start over “and this time be sure of what you want.” Disheartened that a split payment was too complicated, I told her to put it all on the card, and I will sort the rest out later. I don’t appreciate the employee making me feel like I was being difficult or causing a problem, and this situation has created more work that I have to do on my end, after waiting in their ridiculously long line. Unless you’re using your card, I STRONGLY recommend going elsewhere for employees that can handle basic math and don’t give their customer an attitude because they work in the customer service industry. Otherwise, good luck, I’d count your change to double check. Other TJMaxx employees watched the situation from their cashiers and did nothing, so I will be taking my business somewhere that makes me feel welcome and trains their employees on basic mathematics and not to...
Read moreGreat customer service. It pains me to rate a TJMAXX so low since I am obsessed with TJMaxx, but this place needs to fire their buyer. At least when it comes to the women’s clothing selection.
I have NEVER walked into a TJ Maxx with such little choices for my style. I was down in MS and they had a better selection of clothes. That’s embarrassing considering it’s like the stone ages down there with everything else.
It is painful to have to skip this store (since it is so close to my house ) and drive to Marshals since they have a better selection.
Seriously, fire your buyer. Hire me, I will increase your store sales by hundreds of thousands of dollars. I am not the only person in my age bracket that has the same...
Read moreNeeds more "man benches" at the front for wayward husbands. I had to sit in the furniture dept. My wife loved the cleanliness of the dressing rooms, which, of course, meant we stayed longer, exasserbating my frustration over the seating situation. The one bench was filled by two men older than me because men can not possibly sit shoulder to shoulder, lol. I eventually got to sit on the bench, when my wife was in the...
