At first glance, this place is very small and rickety. Since covid hit, it can feel a little uncomfortable to dine inside. All the dishes are disposable and service is only at the counter, making it more of a takeout restaurant. This just proves that looks are incredibly deceiving since the food is spectacular. Their cooking beats some of the fancier establishments such as the Thai place on Main Street or the new restaurant by the rotary in Bourne. Starting off with the pad thai, the noodles are the perfectly sticky and saucy. The rice dishes and soup are never too dry or watery. The seared chicken skewers are always super juicy and bursting with flavor. Their peanut sauce is my go-to dip, a perfect combo of sweet and savory, and they give you extras if you ask. The spring rolls are pre-made, but I appreciate how they add plenty of shrimp to offset the iceberg lettuce. Recently I tried their scallion pancakes, which weren't what I expected. I was pleasantly surprised. It's like a rice cake base filled with chopped veggies and herbs. The outside gets crunchy from the grill and the inside stays hot and chewy. All their food remains fresh and flavorful after returning home. Finally I have to praise their bubble teas, the only place in town that sells them, which come as a frozen frappe. There's a variety of flavors, and green tea or mango has always been a family favorite. The menu can be a bit pricey, but the restaurant isn't reluctant to let customers know about any changes. My family has been loyal to this place for several years! We’ve become good friends with the owner. All the staff is incredibly...
Read moreMy wife and I are big Thai food fans and had high expectations after reading the reviews. They have dine-in checked as an option but there is no dine-in service at the few tables they have as you have to order at the counter. So I said we would start with a large shrimp noodle soup and then took the menus to our table. After deciding lunch I went back to counter and placed our order. Then asked for water and she said town would not allow them to give water at the table. So you had to buy bottled water with "dine-in" service. Sat back down and a few minutes later the lunch came and when asked about the soup she said that would be a few more minutes. Had told her at start that we wanted to begin with the soup. So lunch was taken back to kitchen to sit where the Pad See-ew dried up while we waited for the soup. Lunch was served in plastic to-go containers (remember...dine-in right). Had to ask for fork and knife and the plastic-ware was only then brought to the table. We think they favored the take-out aspect that Covid-19 brought about and did not adjust back to true dine-in service. To be fair, we will try again and try different items on the menu as overall the food had favorable reviews. For us however, service and quality go...
Read moreA friend recommended this place because she was craving Thai iced tea. She had always ordered out but this was her first time coming to sit in at the restaurant.
We walked in, we were a bit skeptical of the place for a moment. Not sure if we could sit or have to be taken to a table. The older man behind the counter told us to sit anywhere and to take a menu. However, there were already menus within the table we sat at which was brilliant, honestly.
We ordered our food back at the older man behind the counter. He told he can cook us whatever when we asked if he can make the chicken crispy Pad See Ee. WHICH HE (OR THEY) DID!
The food came out amazing (crispy chicken melting in my mouth & stellar pad see ew). The Thai iced tea was sweet and delicious. I ordered sweet mango sticky rice which the older man already had bagged up ready to go. Alongside on individual receipts with each of our 4 respective orders… ABSOLUTELY AMAZING SERVICE!
He told us how it’s also BYOB and how we just have to order a bit more food haha
Very kind and will definitely...
