Wife and I went out to Toasted Frog. As entree arrived i walked next door to order a pizza at Sammys to go for family at VA visiting their dying husband and father. Was told it would be 15-20 mins. We finished our meal and went to pick up pizza about 20-25 nins later. Was told it was up next. We sat an waited. A few minutes later a man walks in for carryout and is told his is up next. A few minutes later he gets his pizza. Then in walks 2 ladies and are told that thiers is next. About 5 mins later they get theirs. We walk up and ask where ours is. All 4 employees are standing there. The "i will call him manager-handlebar mustache" finds the ticket and blames another employee for misplacing it (server handed him the ticket directly when I ordered). They are all talking and a say "stop talking and make the pizza". Other cook starts the pizza and is slow. The manager keeeps talking to him and everytime he responds his hands stop moving. Sidenote..the talk is manager tellling him he should punch him, he would kick his ass and lay him out flat. Took over 5 mins to get pizza in oven. 20 mins later my wife asks if pizza is done. Manager pulls pizza from oven and again blames other employee. I say no it was you she gave ticket to. This must have pissed him off because he left uncut pizza on the unfolded boxes, turned around and started filling the line. My wife is loudly knocking on the counter and saying excuse me until he finally turns around and cuts pizza. One hour after i had ordered we get pizza. No im sorry, no discount offered. Just a rude "manager". Ive been in restaurant/bar business since 1985. Mostly in management and ownership. Never seen such unprofessional behavior. Will...
Read moreWe were there for a double Birthday celebration. A card was given to my Daughter that had kitties singing Happy Birthday so naturally, the 6,4, & 3 year old Grandchildren wanted to play with it. The owner, who was waiting on us stated that she was going to kill whoever brought that card in. Mind you, she said it with a straight face. Then later on, she shushed my Grandchildren right in front of their Mother. The restaurant was already full and people all talking. There was no reason whatsoever to shush them and imply that it was going to bother her customers. We were also her customers and spent over $100. It was not her place to try to discipline someone else's children. At first, I thought she was joking. She shushed them and said they needed to use their inside voices. If that's what she wanted, she should have approached their Mother politely and stated that she was hoping they would not be CHILDREN. At this point, we just wanted to leave. We did not leave a tip as we felt the service was unacceptable. We zeroed out where the tip should be. After looking at the credit card statement, they added $20 to the bill without our consent. That is fraud. Out of this whole experience, the only thing good was the food. I will...
Read moreWas ordering through a third party party delivery service and on the app it just listed "soft drink." In order to save time I called Sammys to ask their soda selection. (So when my driver called I'd be ready) The new employee understood and kindly start telling me the selection, the next thing I know the male manager is on the phone and is asking in a demanding tone what this is about. So I explain to him. He then repeats over and over that those orders don't come in from that third party. I said I realized that, the person comes and places the order with this app. Again, "we don't work with that app!" I asked his name and said the owner would be interested to know during this pandemic when people are needing business he is turning it away. His response was, "I'm sure my auntie would love to know that!" We've eaten at Sammys plenty of times pre-pandemic. But, you can bet your bottom dollar we will NOT be eating there again with little nephew...
