I went here tonight with three friends. We were greeted and seated promptly by the hostess. Our server was straight forward and nice. Together we ordered pepperoni pizza, sausage pizza, plus a steak with salad entree. They are a very thin crust and baked in a wood burning oven. Which is great, however the pizzas each only have one type of topping, and we all felt they skimped on the amount of topping, especially the pepperoni one. My friend enjoyed her steak and salad, but was disappointed in the cocktail drink and couldn't finish it. It was too sour. Based on the menu description, it shouldn't have been. The restaurant and washrooms appeared clean. We were all surprised that rather than bringing a portable debit/credit machine to the table, servers are still taking your credit card away from the table to process, and then coming back with a receipt for the guest to write out the tip+final total and to sign it. Where we live, this method hasn't been done anywhere for at least 15 years. It makes us nervous about the higher risk for fraudulent credit card charges due to the cards being taken out of our sight. Overall, I'd consider coming back and trying something else, but I'd bring some cash to pay instead of a credit card.

The Toasted Frog is one of those restaurants where locals will goggle at you if you say you haven’t been there yet, because it’s such an esteemed place. Have any of those in your area? Well, after getting tired of people asking if I’d gone to Toasted Frog, I finally went to keep away the stares (not actually really, I did want to try it but just hadn’t quite gotten around to it). The basis is that I get why it’s quite popular now! I think it might be a little over exaggerated about the niceness of the Frog, but I’d definitely visit again and I obviously liked it enough to give it 5 stars. You can make a reservation which is nice, because it is almost always packed any time I’ve driven by, especially in the evenings. They have a really fun drink menu, and a nice moody ambiance. I enjoyed my dish but I think I’d try something else next time. You can usually tell when a restaurant has high quality food though, and my gauge pointed that the Frog was in the green (which is good haha)!

Great service, food, and atmosphere. Had a daily special soup (southwest chicken) for appetizer, which was good. The Italian Beef Melt sandwich was amazing - beef at jus + gruyere + horseradish and grilled onions made for a fantastic savory combination, accompanied well by the sweet potato fries and chipotle-flavored dipping sauce. The end was capped with the least remarkable (though still good) dish: the creme brûlée. Aside from being the size of a human head (good) and nailing the caramelized sugar part (great), the custard base was average. One more mention of the service - it was stellar. It was the right mix of attentive and non-intrusive, which helps the place shine for conversation without worrying your throat will dry out from lack of water. All in all, I recommend taking your family/friends/co-workers you don't dislike.

I'm not one to leave bad reviews however my experience at the toasted toad was not pleasant. My brother and i were in Fargo for a show and stopped in for a drink prior. Our first drinks were good and the food looked good as well as an ok environment. So we decided to stop back after the show for food and drinks. The first drink i ordered was a moscow mule that at best filled 2/3 of the mug probably closer to half full. So i asked my waitress to address this and her response was that she could add some more ice or maybe some more filler. Just what you want to hear when ordering a ten dollar cocktail. We then made the mistake of asking this same waitress what she recommend off of the menu. She informed us that their seafood and steaks were good and to order from the entrees because chefs took pride in creative plating and flavors. My brother ordered the steak and i the mahi tacos. After the waitresses plating description the last thing i was expecting was to have to build my own tacos for 20$, also if you list the tacos as mango you should probably add more than a tiny spoonfull of mango. That and the sauce that came with my tacos was nothing more than watered down ketchup with touch of sriracha. This coupled with small piece of overcooked tasteless mahi. As for the steak, if you say medium rare cut into the meat and see no red or even pink you've clearly...

There are too many quality places to waste your time going here. I was super disappointed in lack of service and customer care. We drove 3.5 hours to eat here with a birthday reservation for 12. We came early for drinks and were told they were too swamped to give us a table early. No problem - we didn’t want to stand to have our drinks so we left and came back at 7:00. Our table was ready and we sat. Waited for our server. Drink orders Took way too long. Appetizers were ordered but some never got theirs. We waited and waited for drinks - even to just place another order!! Our food took close to 2 hours!!!! Mind you I counted about 6 open tables and open seats at the bar. So they weren’t swamped. Plenty of servers. The manager was running food. We started complaining about lack of drinks, water and long waits. Our younger male server needs to go through training - he was cocky and rude and did a horrible job. I’ve NEVER NOT tipped something - last night I left ZERO tip and I’m pretty sure no one at our table left a tip. The manager should have come and apologized. We had to send food back. It was a horrible experience on a night that we were supposed to be celebrating. Even a birthday dessert wasn’t offered. Food was good. Not excellent and...

Our night started out with our waiter calling us liars. Mind you we were there for our friends 30th birthday. The deep fried pickles were great. Our waiter then chuckled when he felt he had to explain the dishes to us. The food took a very long time to come out, and when it did, it was wrong. I asked for no mushrooms as I am allergic. my meal was slathered in mushrooms. Towards the end of our meal, we were admiring an old bottle on the top shelf, so we asked our waiter.” What’s in that bottle” and in the most pretentious, douchey way he said “ it is a very expensive congac, you don’t have to worry about that”. After he had to go to his manager to ask if we could get it he decided to come back and degrade us even more. He said “the little bottle to the right is the expensive ones little brother. That’s only $25 a shot”.”We want the big brother”. He then warned us that it was $125 a shot. And we agreed. After some more judgemental looks from our waiter and the manager, we recieved the congac. After we had it our waiter tried to be buddy buddy with us. Our party’s bill was $350 for about 45 min of us being in there. We still tipped him very well. If I had my way, I wouldn’t have given him a high five for a tip. I will never eat here again and I will advertise others...
