A Brawl at Luby’s?

My brothers birthday day meal was ruined!

A very rude employee, wearing a cowboy hat, became hasty & borderline hostile.

My protein (chicken fried chicken) was brought to my table by a very nice waitress named Pricilla.

After seeing the portion size, I politely requested a different protein altogether. I simply wasn’t interested in the serving size.

Within a minute , a male employee approached our table. After explaining & showing to him that my freshly cooked protein was 1/2 the size of 2 identical proteins previously ordered by 2 other family members, this employee became hasty & borderline hostile with me. He became ugly then smacked his gums & started to walk away from me.

I decided to follow this employee & insisted to make his manager aware of his attitude.

Brad, the manager, attempted to hear me out. Then, after briefly explaining my concerns to the manager, “The Rude Guy”, interrupted me. He said to his manager, “This is what’s going on”. After but a few seconds, I again insisted to be heard out. The rude guy was laughing and smirking at everything that I was saying to the manager.

Sadly, even the manager was taking sides with the rude guy! He also became passive about my true concerns & began quoting to me his etiquette on portion size at Luby’s. The manager has a well rehearsed response to the portion size of their protein. I guess practice makes perfect; as portion size appears to be a constant issue at this location.

After allowing the manager to have his say, I continued to explain my concerns about the rude guy. It wasn’t until this moment that the manager decided to take me semi seriously. So, I finally was able to tell my story to the manager. Now, the manager, finally knew that I wasn’t truly upset with the portion size as much as I was upset with the attitude the rude guy brought to my table. And guess what, the rude guy was still smirking and laughing all the meanwhile blurting his kiddish drama!

I felt like I wasn’t going to get too far with Brad. So, I told him to deal with the rude guy as this issue wasn’t just going away.

I walked up to the food line & asked for a fish fillet.

So, the rude guy approached where I was at & yes still laughing & smirking away.

I heard someone say, from the food line, “there’s going to be a brawl”!!!

I told the rude guy that he best keep away from me.

This really just could have been handled 100% better by a more qualified & professional manager.

So, Brad, this is not just gonna go away. Y’all ruined a planned birthday dinner!

We went down the street to “The Flaming Buffet” & pleasantly spent $78.

And for that wonderful soul, Pricilla, I hope they didn’t give you a hard time for telling everyone the truth about that rude guy with the cowboy hat! Honest people are few nowadays…

We’re sorry for not leaving you a tip! I thought it best to remove my family from that dreaded environment, for everyone’s sake.

Went there Sat. Dec. 4th took a friend who was visiting from out of town, who loved going there the past 7 years.. It has gone Down hill. Kids running around without no regards of elderly or others walking with trays. I told server to ask the parents to ask the kids to be considerate the two parents eye balled me and sent kids over to our area to be even more loud. Unruly, undisciplined kids running around like they are outside reinacting a Lord of Flies movie. Parents were just allowing them to disturb other patrons. Mgmt didn't do anything even after I asked them to tell them to stop running so fast they nearly ran into a guy carrying 4 drinks. What happened to clean and safe environment. Sweet tea was good.. Tables nasty and food was disgusting. Several Dirty tables and the workers just walked past a manager should have been out there cleaning. the old mgmt would never have allowed this. But it's over for Luby's they won't get any money from me. My friend asked for Angus steak it was a hamburger patty made to look like steak. LOL they must think people are idiots or too unrefined to know the difference. Mac and cheese was yucky. Rice nasty. Carpet made my shoes stick . We sat on area near restrooms one table hadn't been cleaned at all. Lubys socks. It should be shut down. I once loved this.place . NO Pies, Cake Slices like before. You can't select Kale salad or toppings for salad. Food was NASTY! Rice undercooked... no napkins the gave us restroom paper towel from roll. They long term workers who were there for years are GONE! New ones DO NOT CARE. floor is sticky. Do not take friends, family you value there. it's not the same. Embarassing. It's lost it's THUNDER and it's on LIFE support. Total TRASH such a shame. My friend loved to visit and go to this location. NO more good service No napkins......this place is ghetto...and super low clas. The energy has left. Terrible server thought pork chop was Angus and acted silly when questioned. Fried okra was great but too salty last few bites. Rice was nasty. Mac and chess was disgusting. Roll was dry. No butter. I usually got kale salad. Not an option. All salad packaged you can't choose your salad. I didn't enjoy. We Spent $48.00 plus gave out 5.00 in tips. Nobody came to ask us I'd we needed anything I had to flag them down. Close down lubys..we will remember the past. Mgmt is bad. The Addison location is.filthy. doors needed to be wiped down.tables nasty. I took a friend there from out of town. Never again. I should have gone to olive garden or anywhere else. Embarrassing..my friend wanted to visit as he heard it was closing. Do the city a favor.Shut down.since it is not same as it used...

082225:I was in the mood for fish. And there's no better fried fish, than your fried fish! I got the classic combo with some cabbage and sweet potatoes. My wife did the same thing. He only can paid is at the breads were under the heat lamp too long because the crust was very tough. The Fish was heavenly!!!

081225: Tough/dried out: So we ordered the Luann special with small fish sticks. We found out that the fish sticks were left out too long or were over cooked & they got hard as a rock! So one out of my three fish sticks was rock hard & the same with my wife's meal. Otherwise the other sticks of fish, the tartar sauce,plus I had sweet potatoes and Navy beans. All were excellent. I understand that this is a new offering. Please note, some of fish sticks are rock hard and dried out on the inside. Yuck ; otherwise....our server was awesome....Angie. She's awesome x3 !!!!

03/12/25: We had the pleasure of having the Luann played with fried fish black eyed peas and rice. My wife had fried chicken and plate. Of course everything tasted wonderful as always. The hidden hero out here was a charter sauce on the fish. I can make out of me a lot of that on top of the rice. In addition, our our wait staff here was fantastic. He is anticipating in a request and very eager to serve.

02/13/25:

I ordered the smoked sausage, sweet potatoes, black eyed peas, and The Luane platter. Everything was delicious!

2024: Where to go on Christmas Eve? After seeing how crowded it was for Thanksgiving we decided to come early for Christmas Eve. Where are pleasantly surprised because there was a minimal line. Best of all lots of smiling faces serving and delicious food for everyone. Thank you team Louise for a wonderful dining experience for Christmas...
