Pete's Cafe, in Addison, Tx, is the best restaurant to go when you just want some home cooking! If you want to feel the old way that restaurant's treated patrons, Pete's Cafe definitely is the restaurant to enjoy a hot freshly cooked meal and be treated when they opened 42 years ago!. Almost every time I go by myself or with my family, I try to go when my waiter is working! He knows my order and always is in a great mood! Even though the decor could use a little updating, it really doesn't matter when you get hot food, that tastes good, and is always on the mark! Pete's Cafe is reasonably priced, and always has the same menu weekly for their specials. I have never had one bad taste in my mouth that came from Pete's Cafe! I have ordered takeout and have been waited on in their restaurant over 50 times! They have pancakes to GREEK Lamb Gyros with Cber Sauce that's mouth watering! If you're looking for great vegetables, a large amount of food, and very fast service Pete's Cafe is the place to go!!!!! They even have chicken noodle soup. I once went to Pete's Cafe to get the chicken noodle soup when I was feeling really AWFUL! When I got home and rested for a few hours I really felt better. "Chicken Soup for the Soul", is always what my grandmother said when I was ill as a child. Pete's Cafe strives to serve the best food and they truly do have the best...
Read moreI’m typically the kind of diner who side-eyes any place with carpeted floors and a scent that speaks of decades past, I’ll admit it. I’m as bourgeois as they come when it comes to ambiance. So when I got driven to Pete’s Café, I walked in side-eyed, prepared to mentally check out. But that first bite? It checked me instead. Hard.
The Migas with bacon were OUTSTANDING. Perfectly scrambled eggs tossed with crunchy tortilla strips, tomatoes, and onions, all elevated by that bold bacon flavor, it was like breakfast had its own mariachi band playing in my mouth. Every bite was warm, comforting, and just the right level of indulgent without being greasy.
Then came Pete’s Special two eggs your way (I went scrambled), with hash browns, bacon, and the fluffiest pancakes I didn’t know I needed. The pancakes had that homemade, butter-infused soul food energy, no need for extra syrup or apology.
The service was warm, no frills, just folks who know what they're doing and let the food speak for itself. Betsie, was the Bestie... I walked in skeptical and walked out converted.
Pete’s Café doesn’t just serve breakfast, it serves up a reminder that sometimes the best things are found off the beaten path, beyond the...
Read moreGood morning, everybody... So I had decided to want a more intimate breakfast meal and not something as big as ihop. This is a cute little cafe that I found online with some good reviews. I had Ms. Jackie, as my server she was an overbearing, yet she still was atentative. I happily say that I enjoyed my little bearings of what I actually came to accomplish. The parking is in the back to the side and in the front of the cafe. It is quite small, so just you know, bear in mind it's not going to be wide open space.
The veggie omelet was perfect, and so were the pancakes. I have to say their banana pudding was a little different. It is homemade banana pudding.🍌 I kind of like my wafers cookies 🍘mushy.😋 Miss Jackie had also made a suggestion about some type of waffles which is not my favorite thing to eat for breakfast. And I believe something else was homemade too but I can't remember. But everyone should go and try it out!
This has been open since I believe 1975, but unfortunately, Mr Pete is no longer around. But maybe the family steals owns it, not sure. But I'm so excited to see what Texas has with more cafes like this. These are my favorite things. The bigger ones are all right, but I like more...
