My son and I were almost 2 hours away from home and decided to stop here for a bite to eat. Upon entering the restaurant, we noticed it was slow, and there were about 4 tables sat with customers. We were sat after about 5 minutes of entering which was cool. The waitress came and took our drink order and then after bringing us our drinks, she took our food order. When our appetizer came out, she brought no plates or silverware or napkins, and by this time our drinks were also empty as we had been waiting almost a half hour for our appetizer. After another 15 minutes went by, and you can clearly see that we have not touched our appetizer, have no silverware, plates, or napkins, and that our drinks are empty, I finally was able to stop a young buss boy and asked him for silverware, drink refills, plates and napkins. He brought us silverware and napkins and said our waitress would bring the plates and drink refills. We couldn't find our waitress, and remind you the restaurant was mostly empty at 7pm on a Wednesday evening. My son and I decided to go ahead and eat the wings while we could now that we had silverware, but still no plates, before the wings got cold. We still had no drinks. I got up to fill the drinks myself and ask for the bill at this point because we have now been sitting there for an hour and no service and our food still wasn't out. The manager came over and FINALLY brought us drink refills and our food. She didn't seem to care about our waitress's customer service. When the waitress finally came back and my son asked for A1 sauce she rolled her eyes and walked off. I asked a male waiter for a1 sauce, ketchup, and salt and pepper. He brought us a1 sauce and recommended looking at the other tables for the possibility of a full ketchup bottle at one of the other tables. It took us 4 tables before we found a ketchup bottle with any ketchup in it. Also, all of the salt and pepper shakers were so compacted and gross that we had to unscrew the lids to get anything out of them. The waitress didn't come back til it was time to pay and stood over us as I wrote out the tip line. My husband, son, and I all usually tip around 30% but I didn't tip anywhere close to that this time. No one apologized or seemed to care! We weren't looking for anything free or crazy. All we wanted was decent customer service! It was our 1st time in Farmington on business and the locals said ever since the owner/manager passed, the new management team, owner and staff have been less than sub par. Wish I would have inquired with them all before going here. We will not be back! I would be happy to explain more if needed. Take your business to Colton's Steakhouse! They were phenomenal!!! I recommend yall do some revamping on customer service, etc., before a secret shopper/diner, etc.,...
Read moreI have been kind and merciful with the number review. I am not here to be spiteful or harmful. I do not take pleasure in scolding anyone. Our experience (myself, husband, and adult son) last night was more like a zero star experience. I decided to wait till the next day to review so I wouldn’t post just on my emotion. We were seated quickly, but our server didn’t show up for a good 10-15 minutes later. My son and I picked from the 2 for 25 and my hubby had a big lunch so he ordered the apple dessert with ice cream. Our appetizer came out first. The spinach and artichoke dip. The chips were great but the cheese on top of dip was visibly burnt. The server should have stopped that from even being served but NO she sat it down in front of us. Then came the main course. I ordered the 6 oz garlic butter skillet steak. As soon as she sat the food down I knew it wasn’t going to be good. The steak STUNK 🦨 and mashed looked 👀 and smelled bad. When i touched the steak I knew it wasn’t done. When I cut into the steak it was far from the medium I had ordered. It was RARE. I also stuck my fork into the potatoes not to get a full fork bite but to have a little sample. It tasted like it looked and smelled. It tasted soured. I sent the steak back which I never do because i can eat a rare steak but prefer medium. I sent it back due to the smell. When it arrived at my table I now had a very well done steak. I cut into it a tiny bite to dIscover it did taste old, overcooked, with zero flavor. I was done! I didn’t ever take a single bite of anything else. Server never checked on us to see if things were better. My sons honey glazed chicken was burnt and fries were soft and rubbery. He didn’t eat all of his chicken and ate a couple waffle fries. When server came to the table she asked if we needed “to go” boxes. It was visibly clear our food was NOT RIGHT. I asked for my food to be taken off our bill and she took our receipt and came back with it removed. She didn’t have anything to say. No apologies for the quality of the food or the cook which neither is her fault but on behalf of the restaurant she should have apologized. Like I said we are not vindictive so we left her a 20+% tip realizing everyone has bad days and knowing she may not have been fully trained. I wished I would have taken pictures because a picture is worth a thousand words!! In my 54 years on earth I’ve only given 2 other bad reviews. I will say my husband’s dessert was very good. Please do better Applebee’s in...
Read moreWe had a party of six. Ordered 4 appetizers plus our meals, drinks and a couple of beers. We finally got our appetizers, they were busy... Saturday night, and as we are eating a roach crawls up the bowl and across the rim of the artichoke dip and into the food. We quietly got our waiter and showed him and he very quickly removed the dish from our table and offered something else. The manager comes to our table and acted like we were lieing.... "Was it really a roach?" "Are you sure that's what it was?" We explained to her that it was crawling on the dish and climbed into the food. She did comp the appetizers, but I felt like she could have handled it better. I really don't think a party of 4 adults and 2 kids are gonna lie about something like that and if all I wanted was free food I would have made a big scene about it, not had my waiter come to the table, had him lean down and quitely tell him the issue in his ear. A+ for how Austin, the waiter handled the situation. The female manager that night, not so much. I didn't catch her name, I was a little busy with the whole "was it really a roach?" comment. We still spent over a hundred dollars, just to walk out of there feeling like we had been accused of lieing and wanting free food. If that were the case, I wouldn't have paid for anything and everyone in the restaurant would have known there was a bug issue. After that kind of attitude, I'm not sure that we will ever be going back to this Applebee's. Things happen, bugs get in the kitchen, even though it shouldn't. I have worked in kitchens and been a manager, when a customer discreetly let's you know there is an issue, don't treat them like they are lieing. That's how you get bad...
