EDIT: HAD TO CHANGE MY REVIEW FROM 5 STARS TO 1 STAR DUE TO NEW MANAGEMENT!
My hubby used to be a regular customer here, the old management was very sweet and kind and always had fair prices for the amount of food served. However. The reason for my star-change has multiple reasons.
The new management is absolutely horrible. The woman here, Isabelle, is very rude. She tried to sneak in a 4 dollar charge my hubby for "extra meat" despite the fact that it was a NORMAL portion size, it was NOT extra. This place has gone completely downhill ever since they had a new management. I absolutely did not enjoy how rude she was to my hubby. The employees at Chik-Fil-A are very kind and respectful, unlike her.
The workers here ARE. NOT. CLEAN. at ALL! As you can see from my sneakily-taken photos, their food containers ARE NOT ORGANIZED in ANY WAY. Everything is touring everything else. It is very unsanitary and cross-contamination is 100000% occurring. If you have ANY kind of allergy, AVOID. THIS. PLACE. AT. ALL. COSTS. Also!!!!! The employees had their hair dangling and did NOT have face masks. If you are working near food, I do NOT want your saliva or germs in my food. I even saw one girl rub her nose and then touch the food she was about to put on a burrito... talk about disgusting šµš¤®.
The bathrooms here are HORRIBLE! I have never been so dissatisfied with a restaurants bathroom before. I walked in the bathroom and found toilet paper all over the floor, the mirror probably has never been cleaned, the sink was covered in orange grime, and I felt like I was going to contract AIDS if I touched the toilet seat... the toilet paper dispenser didn't even work either.
The tables are definitely not clean here. Probably only get wiped once a week. Floors aren't clean either...
Lastly. My nose is still smelling the fumes from this place. It smelled horrendous. It smells like someone set a pig on fire and then let the pigs corpse rot in the back. It smells like a mixture of burnt hair, bad attitude and poor leadership.
They are up charging their prices WHILE REDUCING portion sizes. My hubby has been a loyal customer to Cafe Rio for 2 whole years. He says that it was great and his favorite restaurant until 3 months ago.
I would give this place a 0/5 stars if it were an option. This has to be the worst Google Review I have ever made. I honestly think this beats my review from Walmart having a literal sh*t sitting in the bathroom when I walked in. What a joke. From Walmart, I expect unsanitary bathrooms. But even a gas station has a cleaner atmosphere than this place, and this is a FOOD serving location š¤®. Please don't go here if you're hungry. You may end up contracting a disease.
Oh and FYI, I usually give places 3 to 5 stars. Like I said, this location used to have a 5 star review from me (and the manager had responded to my review thanking me as well). It is now a 1 star. Good job Cafe Rio, you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy first visit to the location in Farmington it was a sad reflection for CafĆ© Rio. It was s a disappointment as I love CafĆ© Rio and every location that I have been visited up to this point. It took 8 minutes for someone to start our order and to even acknowledge us.. ( no one was in line in front of us) Wishing I would have taken pictures of how the serving area looked. The shredded beef was dry and crusty, the rice was all over the placed along with the beans. The serving area you could tell hadnāt been cleaned in sometime. All the side items were likewise messy and hadnāt been removed or cleaned in sometime. Once we ordered we waited another 8-10 minutes to pay for our food. They had no one to run cash register. I had to say excuse me but can you please help us check out. A few people were standing around but they didnāt know how to run the cash register. Finally the lady that was making the dishes came over and rang up our food. Only because the line had grown and the food was lining the severing area. (Not good considering cross contamination regulations). We went to sit down and found ever single table dirty that wasnāt being used. Took it upon ourselves to get their clearing supplies and cleaned the table. Before eating I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and the bathroom had no soap. Not a good reflection on the staff and also knowing that they couldnāt wash their hands properly either. šµāš«When we were finished with dinner we went to dump our trays and the trash was so full people just sat trays on the side and the garbage was overflowing. What a disappointing experienceā¦and to see they are paying staff start wage if $13.50 hour on the help wanted sign is pathetic. Go to work with a work ethic that you can be proud of when you leave. And secondly to the owner of this franchise you need to step up and take care of your staff. They are a direct reflection of what you allow your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNever have had a bad experience at a Cafe Rio at any of the locations Iāve been to so Iām summing this up to extremely poor management of this specific location. They told me it would be 10min for them to cook the salmon so I said I would wait cause the store wasnāt too busy and I have waited at other locations and it usually doesnāt even take them as long as they estimate cause theyāre usually super awesome and on top of it, it ended up taking about 35 min with me asking every here and there. Finally after they burned the hell out of the salmon I wanted to speak to the manager and the manager then tried to just give me the super dried out salmon for full price and was not at all apologetic and also acted like nothing was wrong with the fact several other customers and I had to wait for as long as we did for food thatās usually so quick. While waiting I also overheard serveral other customers complaints about the cleanliness of the kitchen and about service speed which I 100% agreed with, the place was a disaster. Iām sure with some changes in management they could be as great as the other locations but in the meantime spare yourself the headache and head over to one of the old locations in Layton or Bountiful. After this I ended up running over to Noodles and Co and they actually ended up running out of one of the ingredients in what I ordered and without any hesitation or being prompted they asked if they could double up on any ingredients to make up for it and weāre amazing (I mentioned nothing of cafe rio they just have way better customer...
