The Best Restaurant in Town
R&R is our absolute favorite restaurant. We eat out once a week, at R&R exclusively. It is hands down the best place to eat in Farmington, the entire Salt Lake area, and anywhere else I could see myself visiting.
First off, the food is incredible. We're talking top-tier pulled pork, brisket and ribs, very generously portioned (I love having left-overs), with amazing side orders.
Second, the value is remarkable. For the same amount I could spend on fast food and significantly less than a waited-on restaurant, I get a superior meal and a wonderful dining experience.
There's a fantastic rewards program and if you choose the daily special, you get an extra discount and your drink is included free! You place your order at the front and more often than not, my food is ready and waiting at my table before I even have a chance to fill my drink and sit down. That's because they're smoking that meat at the crack of dawn so it's tender, flavor-infused and ready to eat when you arrive.
My absolute favorite meal is their Thursday special: rib tips with fries (sometimes I do coleslaw or the fried pickles) with a sweet iced tea (their brew is a blissfully perfect blend). Their ribs are the perfect combination of savory, tender and juicy with just the right balance of textures.
If all that wasn't enough, what keeps my family and I coming back again and again is the unparalleled customer service. The manager, Nicole, goes above and beyond to make us (and all of her patrons) feel incredibly special and well taken care of. This friendly kindness is also clearly evident in her staff as well. It's the kind of thing that is so rare these days, that when you experience it first hand, it literally livens your spirit for the entire day. If other businesses followed Nicole's example, the world would truly be a happier and more positive...
Read moreIncredibly disappointing. Arrived for dinner at 7:30 pm and were immediately informed that they were out of ribs and chicken because it was the end of the evening. At 7:30?? They close at 10:00pm. This is not the first time this has happened to us. If R&R is selling out of the main dishes that they advertise, maybe they should rethink their supply. At least have a sign at the door that says that they are out of all of the food that people go to consume. We ordered the Nachos, a pulled pork sandwich, and chicken wings. The nachos were dry and lacked the “cheese sauce” that is listed on the menu. We went to the counter to show them the dry nachos and politely asked for a little more of the cheese sauce. We were rudely informed that the sauce was sufficient, and that we would have to purchase more of that sauce. The lady behind the counter, Kylie, was rude, churlish, and inflexible. We had to consume the dry nachos as served, or purchase more of the cheese sauce! We weren’t asking for more meat, or anything of any conceivable value, just a little more of the watery yellow paste that passes for cheese sauce. I am not certain where they train their employees, but it seems that they should be more accommodating to reasonable requests. Overall a miserable experience made worse by the rudeness of the staff. Stupidly, I left a tip for Kylie when we ordered the food. Lesson learned!! Not only will I never go back, I will inform all of my friends what to expect...
Read moreI used to love this place. The brisket has slowly gotten worse & worse. The staff tries as hard as they can & there is plenty of other food choices. I started going for the brisket. Tender, seasoned excellent. As time went on the quality got worse & worse.
(Update 10/01/2019) Went back for a visit & was let down again. The brisket was undercooked & the fat was not even rendered. It was chewy & flavorless. I've ordered from the Salt Lake location several times & have always been satisfied. My son ordered the wings & the meat was pink. I doubt I'll ever go back to this location. Makes me sad.
(Update 12/24/2020) Some time has passed and I've have ordered several times for delivery. My expectations have been low every time and my expectations have been met every time. Absolutely terrible! Just got my food today and I couldn't even stomach the first bite. If you are looking for good brisket, this is not the place. Try frozen store bought. Probably better. R & R has lost my patronage for good. Avoid this place. If I could give less than a one star, I would.
(update 11/10/2023) Not sure why I gave this place another try. Ordered the brisket for the family. It was chewy and tough. I am done with this location at least.
(Update 05/14/2025) Tried again. I have switched to the North Salt Lake location and have been pleasantly surprised. Today I ordered a brisket and wouldn't you know it, brisket from the Farmington location and wouldn't you known it. Tough and...
