If you’ve eaten at Alpaca (the original chain), this will probably be a disappointment unless you just get the chicken and sides. I always get the tacos from alpaca and these are completely different and way more expensive. $10 for 3 plus I had to pay for my drink and side so over $17 for ONE person to eat. The tacos also have cheese and sour cream FYI for anyone else dairy free. I’m upset over the price of the tacos especially when I told them online it says $8.99 for three plus a drink. The managers solution was for me to put something back and get refunded for it. I also requested cilantro and they did not include it. The manager could not tell me if a sauce was dairy free, which seems like something they should really know since it’s such a big thing for Alpaca to be transparent about. My chicken tacos were soggy, made with shredded chicken instead of the iconic grilled chicken and they just weren’t appetizing. My fries were also barely room temperature and I had started eating within two minutes of getting my food. I let a worker know I wasn’t impressed and my specific issues, and they didn’t seem to care. I will make the drive to Sanford or Raleigh, because this just is not it for me. They should have never tried changing the brand. Alpaca is much...
Read moreSo my wife and I decided to give this place a try. The food is ok, the chicken is well cooked, but it doesn't taste any different than any other chicken... very blah.... Now what really rubs me about this place is that when you walk in, the first thing you see is a counter. Why not just have menus and have a wait staff? To make matters worse, it is unclear what you can order to dine in or take out. The staff doesn't have a "pitch" to help you simplify things and even after you figure it out, the whole thing is a bit inflexible. They do not wrap the silverware, they have them by the drink machine, next to the sauces/condiments, so if someone sneezes near the sodas, all the silverware is compromised. My opinion is that this is a missed opportunity. They have an excellent location, why cheapen the experience by having me order as soon as walk in from the street? Other restaurants in the area offer a lot more value for the money. Two plates of chicken one with fries and the other with yuca, with no salad, and drinks that I had to serve myself at the fountain cost me 36+ dollars. For that same amount, I could have had someone serve me beers, two full plates and an appetizer at almost any other restaurant...
Read moreFirst time here. I'm not very impressed considering how I've heard only good reviews from others. When we walked in, we were greeted, which was nice. But I said this is our first time here. And instead of pointing us to the menu, the order taker tried telling us everything they offer. It was hard to hear him over the music and background noise... some machines running or something. So I proceeded to try to find the menu. Had to back up to the front door. The food was okay. I was expecting something savory, but it was average rotisserie chicken. I was given my food right away, but others in my party ordered the daily special (taco tuesday). I was almost half done with my food by the time theirs was brought out. It would have made more sense to bring to the table all at once. I had to search for where to get the silverwear, which is by the soft drinks. It would have been nice if the staff said something about where to find things. But they must expect customers to have already been here. I'll come again when ready to spend more than I should for what I get. But for the price, I'm not...
