I had ordered extra shrimp for my creamy chipotle pasta dish. The dish regularly comes with eight shrimp, and I only received eight shrimp. In this case it isn’t being a Karen at all, it is the principle. We are paying you money, (not just one dollar or two) for extra food that we don’t receive. Our server returns the plate to the kitchen. Alex, one of the line cooks I believe, begins verbally berating the server to where myself, my table and other guests can clearly hear it. He goes, “nah they f—ckin lying bruh”, “I already put three bags on there”, “I ain’t doing it”, amongst other presumably frustrated insults and hand waving directed towards the server. Our server comes back with the same plate and says there should be 24 shrimp on the plate (each “bag” holds eight shrimp, and the cook claimed he put three bags). I counted the shrimp, there was only eight shrimp on the plate. Im annoyed at this point and demand a supervisor. Caleb, who I presume is the shift manager comes up and hears us out. He was cordial and professional. As we’re explaining the situation, we profusely apologized to the server knowing it’s not her fault and telling her she should not be spoken to in that way, especially in the workplace. The server is shaking, shedding tears and says we are a wonderful table. Her emotional response tells me very few must stand up for servers in situations like that. Meanwhile Alex and his cook coworker are MENACINGLY staring me down from the kitchen as I’m eating. Our table is the closest to the kitchen entrance.
Eventually I get a plate of only four extra shrimp that were extremely disfigured (most likely done intentionally out of passive aggression by Alex). The shift manager Caleb unfortunately, as respectful as he was, actually had the nerve to say it was butterflied, like I don’t know what butterfly shrimp looks like… it appeared as if the cook had tore all the shrimp completely apart, it was unrecognizable if it weren’t for the tails. At this point I was infuriated, I was extremely dissatisfied with the food and I most certainly didn’t feel comfortable eating while being stared at by employees from the kitchen, everyone having known the situation by that time. I didn’t want the extra shrimp and our server removed the charge.
I’ve worked at the Texas Roadhouse across the street, which was or still is the sister store of Bubbas. I well empathize with the amount of stress a server endures already. Alex speaking to her in the way he did was completely uncalled for and is counter productive in the kitchen atmosphere. It brings down morale and is inappropriate coming from a grown man. I had never heard a cook speak to a server like that before at TXRH, even when guests couldn’t hear it. The kitchen environments are somewhat similar. Expo would get on the cook’s behind if the order was not accurate. I understand how the food is packaged and I get that it is a hassle to get another bag of an item, but it is YOUR JOB, and I paid for that extra food. I ask for something like extra mushrooms over there and I get extra mushrooms.
You do not speak to ANY woman as disrespectfully as Alex did, especially when she is just a server and has nothing to do with the table or the food. That was disgusting to witness as a guest and having worked in food already. Our server was great, she was polite, attentive and sharp. We spoke with the kitchen manager as well and made sure Caleb and him knew exactly who it was that...

We went back on a Friday night to give the restaurant another shot. This time, we asked for a booth. Our server, Abbie, was very personable and attentive, although we did have to ask for silverware again. Everything was brought out as ordered, except my cole slaw was not brought out with my fish. It was part of the meal, and I had ordered an additional side salad, which I was charged full price for, it wasn't an add on or substitution.(My salad was great this visit though- nothing inedible)We didn't mention the salad confusion, as everything was much better at this visit. We will return again. Thank you to Bubba's for making up for our first visit. 🙂 We went for dinner after 7pm on a Saturday night. The restaurant was pretty busy, but we were told to go ahead and choose a high top table. We sat down, and our server came by for drink orders fairly quickly. We put in our appetizer orders when she came back with the drinks. The apps did take a while to come out, and someone from the kitchen served them. We didn't have any silverware and flagged someone down for silverware. That turned out to be Steve, a manager. Our waitress came back, took our dinner order, and was gone again. We waited a very long time for our food, our drinks empty. When my side salad came out, there was a large piece of plastic wrap with a price sticker still attached to it, right at the top. You couldn't miss it. We flagged over Steve again, and he was very apologetic. He asked if I wanted another salad made, and I declined. I just asked that he take the $.99 upcharge, off the bill. He came back through the dining area and was showing a couple servers my salad. I get it, a training moment, but I was already put off from our evening so far, and having servers look back over their shoulders at me while he was talking to them was just embarrassing. Our server came back to the table after that and apologized for my salad, adding that it would have never happened if she had made the salad. She let us know that Steve was going to take the charges off for our appetizers. We thanked her and she was off again- We still had empty drink glasses at this point. When the rest of the meal was finally brought out, again by kitchen staff, we had really just lost our appetites. I tried the fries, but they tasted of old grease. We asked for boxes and our bill when we saw our server again. Seriously- how many tables did that poor girl have? We never saw her but saw plenty of other servers back and forth at the server station. I went over the bill and was, in fact, charged for my salad. It was only the 99 cent upcharge, and they had already taken off our appetizers, so we didn't push the issue. We packed our dinners, leaving the fries, and left the restaurant. We have been to Bubba's a few times, and have never had a visit as bad as this one. Manager Steve- thank you for trying to make it right and salvage our evening out. I...

I got there 4 minutes after the requested time so figured my meal would be ready. After about 10 minutes of waiting a young girl came out to ask if I was waiting for an order, I told her I was, she said she’d check on that. After another 10 minutes of waiting a young man bought me my food. It’s a good thing I checked it before I drove off because the tots were burnt and the fish was cold. I went inside to let them know. I showed the same young girl my food and she started with “that’s how we…”, I let her know that’s not how y’all cook your tater tots, these are burnt, I’ve had them before. Instead of her trying to argue about it she decided to get the manager. I had to ask the manager to get a remake because he was just looking at the food, no apology or anything. The young girl advised it would take about 20 minutes to remake it. I sat back out in my car and after 25 minutes went back in to check on my order. Had to wait another 5 minutes to finally get my food. I asked the young girl if I could possibly get a drink to compensate for my time being wasted. You would have thought that I asked for her 1st born child. Her response was “oh no we can’t do that”. Okay so you can waste my time and give me burnt, cold food but can’t provide a drink for the trouble???? She had the nerve to get loud with me talking about I TOLD YOU IT WOULD BE 20 MINUTES! I let her know I should not have had to wait over 45 minutes for an order that was placed three hours ahead of time. She just kept making excuses about how she didn’t make the food and how busy they were. She only offered a fake apology after I mentioned the fact that no one even offered that. That’s my last time EVER ordering food or dining at Bubba’s. The customer service is trash and they don’t seem to give a damn about how they treat...
