I was in town just to take my son out for dinner. We decided on Kickbacks for the casual atmosphere and varity of dishes. When we arrived there was no wait and nobody waiting. The hostess didn't ask if we preferred table or booth, she gave the menu's to another young lady and sent us on our way. We were taken to a hightop table. Because of a medical condition my wife cannot sit on the hightop chairs. The young lady promptly went and wiped down a table at a booth for us, but before she could get back to us the hostess sat someone else in the booth. I asked the Hostest why she did that, she said the group had been waiting for a booth. This is a lie, we were the only ones waiting when we arrived. The young lady that wiped down the booth found another booth for us and we were promptly seated. Our waitress took 10 minutes or show to show up, we ordered waters and an appetizer. The waters showed up promptly but the appetizer was another 20 minute wait and was delivered by the hostess. The appetizer was good but you could tell it has sat for a while because the chips were soggy. We placed our order with the waitress when when she gave us our waters. My wife and her mother both ordered the chicken fruit salads with dressing on the sides. My son ordered the all american burger, I ordered the firecracker burger. It was another 30 minutes before our meals shows up. The salads were missing the dressings. We asked the waitress for them. I bit into my burger and found the meat was literally raw! I asked my son to cut into his and it was raw as well. We called the waitress over, and asked to see the manager. Still hadn't received the salad dressings. The manager saw the issue and took the burgers right away and had the dressings brought to the table for the salads. We waited another 20 minutes for our burgers to be properly prepared while the lady's ate their salads. The the new burgers were delivered, however, they were the basic classic burgers. We told her and she went to the kitchen and brought back the missing ingredients. Weird but okay, at least the meat was done. The French fries were not refreshed though, they had been sitting on the plates the entire time and were now wilted and soggy. After we finished we waited again for the waitress to return. She finally returned at which time we told her we were finished and would like our checks. Again another 10 minutes. We recieved our checks and when my son presented his military ID she offered to put the discount on mine and his meals. She said 'I'll be right back' .... 20 minutes later she showed up with two fistfuls of checks and cash from other tables and said she'd be right back again... we offered to bring the cash and tickets to her at the register. 15 more minutes until we were finally finished with out ordeal. I have neve seen such a poorly organized place. The kitchen is obviously not being managed properly and the wait staff is way too slow. The manager never returned to the table after hearing our complaint and didn't offer any kind of compensation for our troubles. I won't go back. I would suggest you stay...
Read moreLast night I had the worst dinning experiences I’ve ever in Fayetteville. I recently just got into town and was out with my brother and his in-laws. We decided we wanted go out to a familiar place for drinks, food and fun. With that being said nothing we were in search of was delivered by Kickback by any basic level of expectation. I’ve worked there briefly in the past so I wasn’t expecting a 5 star food service experience, but being that I have worked there before I know first hand the food spec and standard and what we received most certainly did not come close to that. To be very honest the only thing worst than the cold and dead food that came to our table was the disgustingly and foul mannered manger Justine that followed it. I was absolutely blown away by her incredible lack of care and disrespectful tone and disposition over the matter. She had absolutely no interest in listening to our concerns and literally cut me off while I was speaking. As a CERTIFIED chef I KNOW food as someone who has worked as a front of the house manager for many years I know great customer service and it is incredibly clearly to me she doesn’t understand the basic concept either!!! I seriously can’t understand how she works in food service establishments at all... in behooves me !!! After traveling I was so ready to eat and enjoy time with my family... that was completely compromised and to make matters worse we were over charged by almost $30. I tried to tell her that, but she was so unprofessional and rude when she finally got to the table again over 20 minutes after I requested her then proceeded to talk over me saying “what do you need now we’re waiting for you to go” To prevent myself from getting angry and matching her ignorance I decided to take the high road and my high bill and just leave. I’m not sure what frustrates me more... paying a tab over $100 for food I never ate, paying for food that was poorly made, having to deal with a juvenile manager from hell and not verbally correcting her like I wanted to and how she deserved or the fact my little brother was hungers and unhappy and nothing was done about it. It just doesn’t makes sense to operate a business when your not equipped with the tools on any level to do so... like who hired you?!?! Maybe if she spent less time flirting with every man that came inside the establishment she would have noticed the poor quality of product that out of the kitchen......
Read morePlaced pickup order. When I arrived at the restaurant, there wasn’t anywhere to park. Eat in customers filled the 2 “to go” spaces, so I pulled around to the back so as not to block the parking lot and called. I was probably put on hold and left there for 10 minutes. During those 10 minutes I managed to get one of the handicap parking spaces with a clear view of the front of the restaurant. Young ladies up front not busy, but still had me on hold. I sat there watching one girl eating with her fingers…no napkin in sight while the other one talked and laughed. I decided to go in…remaining on hold. Once inside I found that my order, the only order, was sitting on the shelf getting cold while these two girls were goofing off and yes, I was still on hold on my phone.
The giggly girl asked if I was picking up an order and I replied yes. She asked my name, I told her and said I was the one she still had on hold. She smirked, as if that was funny, and handed me my bag. No apologies or anything, of course. Once in my car I called back and asked for the manager. She said okay and then hung up on me. So I called back. Surprisingly, the manager answered the phone. I told her about my disappointment in the service of her staff. She apologized, sincerely I believe and said she would speak to her staff.
Normally, I would give one star for being treated so unprofessionally and with such rudeness, but it was my first time ever eating at a Kickback Jack’s and want to give them 5he benefit of the doubt.
The food, fish & chips was pretty good. Mac n cheese was delicious. French fries were horrible. Menu says “crispy” fries, but when paced in the bottom of the container under fried fish and shrimp, what you get is a soggy mess. So I would suggest you ask for fries packaged separately, or choose a...
