Headed there with the family after a few hours at Defy Gravity. Before leaving Defy, I made sure someone called ahead to check for a wait. We were told our party of 9 would have no wait and I wasn't too shocked since it was nasty outside and it was already 8 pm. We arrived and were immediately told there would be a 15-20 minute wait, which isn't a terrible deal-breaker unless you have a 3yo in your party and everyone is thirsty as he'll from bouncing around Defy Gravity for 90 minutes. We were soon joined in the waiting area by 2 more parties, one of which we recognized as also coming from Defy . They were told an even longer wait and also asked the hostess why they were told on the phone there was no wait. We were finally seated in the back of the restaurant and proceeded to wait for a out 15 minutes before we were even able to place a drink order. Needless to say, those drinks were gone fast. We placed all our food orders with the drinks to speed things up also. A few salads arrived with our appetizers, and the ranch dressing looked to be about half water. The cheese fries were soggy and unappetizing, especially with the ranch water. A while later, our dinners started trickling in a few at a time. My $28 Ribeye was, of course, the last thing to arrive, and despite having 2 pink Medium Rare stakes in it, it was obviously blue rare. When the waitress returned and I showed it to her, she immediately made the classic "Eww" face and took it back. I was at least able to eat my sweet potato while I waited, but the sautéed mushrooms tasted like they had been sitting in a tub for 12 hours. My wife had to fish some shredded cheese from her watered-down salad for her potato since it didn't come as she ordered. One of our party received the wrong burger order(as in someone else's food), another's medium burger was shoe-leather done, and my son didn't get his potato soup until after everyone was done eating and waiting on the check. Oh yeah, my steak(not a new steak, the same 3 pieces I had cut up just chunked back on the grill) finally returned and was edible, but it was half charred with some bites more burnt than others. Apparently, most of the issues we experienced were problems in the kitchen, and our server admitted she had to plate the soup herself. One would think after all those issues, there would be some type of discount applied to our bill, but of course, there was nothing but an added 20% gratuity. To top it all off, as we left, we walked through the server area next to our seating area where the concrete floor was falling apart and was covered by a giant puddle of nasty water that smelled of backed up drain pipes. In case this sounds like nit-picking, I managed to snap some pictures for reference. Oh, I almost forgot I'm almost certain the A1 sauce was also...
Read morefood safety alert: raw chicken This was served to my date, and we only caught it because she spread them out before putting on dressing. Not only was it pink and bleeding, it was downright cold, almost frozen in the center. What's almost more concerning is how it was handled: we made the server aware (she never did anything wrong, by the way) and let her know we absolutely didn't want it back, as my date had (rightfully) lost her complete appetite. Also, at this point she had touched it, I had touched it (to feel how cold it was), and I think the server did too. We then WATCHED THE COOK TAKE THE PIECES OF CHICKEN OFF THE SALAD WITH NO GLOVES, shake the salad off them, and PUT THEM BACK ON THE GRILL. When the manager (or head cook?) Came over to talk to us, we asked him why the cook put it back on the grill, when we clearly stated we didn't want it back: he said...and I quote, "we thought we could convince you to take it back" and something about training purposes??? He was finally able to talk her into a salad with no meat (which she still didn't eat). I had a porterhouse that was decent (and not really a porterhouse, as it was just a large T-bone of you really know your steaks), but we literally only went there because she wanted this specific salad. They comped us 12.99 for our ruined experience, but the right thing to do would have been to comp the entire meal. I effectively spent $60 for her to watch me eat, the date was ruined, and the rest of the evening was a wash. I can't IMAGINE how a couple that could only afford one date a month would have felt, knowing they have to wait another month after spending $60 here to be grossed out: That's why "nice" establishment comp entire meals when they ruin a meal this bad. They get it.
Now, I was so concerned for the safety of others, I went there the next day and showed the GM these photos and he wasn't very concerned. He mentioned the grill is 600 degrees, but he did also admit that their policy is no chicken or burgers go back on the grill...so why defend it at all? We kept it cordial, but he didn't seem like he cared like a GM normally would treat a customer the CLEARLY has photo evidence that could harm his establishment. To say we won't be back is rhetorical. This review is for anyone thinking about...
Read moreOur first visit to Logan’s in a LONG time, and, most likely, our last. From being greeted by a host in actual jogging pants (ok, I get it, we are all a bit more relaxed these days, but this is a roadhouse not a sports-themed restaurant), to quickly noticing just how much the restaurant atmosphere itself seems to have been “let go,” we were surprised. We were quickly greeted by a friendly waitress who was attentive throughout our meal and really took care of us (THANK YOU FOR THAT). We ordered our meals and here’s where it all really went south.
Littlest kiddo: kid’s steak tips, medium rare with fries. Is served steak tips that are medium to medium-well and fries that are grease-laden and have an “old” grease taste.
Big kiddo: 6oz sirloin, medium rare with baked potato and mac & cheese. Is served a rare sirloin with a baked potato with burnt skin but still too-firm middle, and the saving grace for him was the mac & cheese.
Hubs: teriyaki steak, medium with sweet potato and house salad. [I feel that it is important to note that we have always been BIG fans of Logan’s house salad, they have always just hit right.] The salad was picked up half-eaten, just not the freshness we expected from Logan’s; the medium steak was medium rare - leaning more towards rare and inedible for him, and the sweet potato was HUGE, overcooked to mushiness, and not served with an appropriate ratio of cinnamon sugar for its size.
Myself: 6oz sirloin, medium rare with house salad and loaded fries. Repeat same salad issues as my husband. Just such a disappointment (and really made me appreciate that I didn’t do “my usual” and order just a house salad for my meal…). Sirloin was medium - medium well, and loaded fries tasted heavy of old oil.
No, we didn’t complain and ask for our food to be remade. They managed to create issues with every plate served to our table. The likelihood they would correct all of them was slim, it was late, and we had children who needed to eat what they could and get home to ready themselves for bed. Yes, we did tip our server because it wasn’t her fault.
The only edible items we were served were the rolls (my little one even complained about the cinnamon butter!) and my big kid’s mac & cheese.
Very disappointing for a restaurant we have...
