Ramay’s 8th grade Pre-AP English class, including myself, went to Starbucks (MLK Junior Boulevard Fayetteville, Arkansas) on April 16th. When there, we had the opportunity to read the poetry we had been writing in class. When my class arrived late in the morning, Starbucks was fairly full. The workers had a pre-setup area, including a podium, for us to use when we presented our poetry. This was thoughtful and necessary for a smooth and unobtrusive reading. We had pre-ordered drinks online and as soon as we got there the Starbucks employee began calling our names for us to get our beverages. I got a green tea Frappuccino, which I highly recommend for its tasty flavor and energy boost. Getting the drinks was a much smoother and less hectic process than I had expected. The Starbucks employees gave us some benefits. Reading my poetry to the customers of Starbucks was definitely a learning experience. I realized the importance of projecting my voice. Once I did this, it appeared that the customers were paying attention and even giving positive feedback once I had finished. Another idea I recognized was that audiences like to be entertained and any way you can make your voice, hand motions, or dramatic effects more interesting will create a more involved audience. In these ways, Starbucks has helped me personally and I am thankful. I can see myself going to Starbucks in the future to study, for meetings, or to meet up with friends. This will also be helpful for speech contests, poetry slams, or presenting my ideas to any...
Read moreI was really surprised and disappointed when I tasted my drink this morning, but I think that was the desired effect? I’ve been coming here almost every morning for about a year. It had gotten to the point where the baristas knew my order by heart and were always so kind!!! My boyfriend and I always order the same thing and get our big yellow lab a pup cup! Recently my boyfriend’s drink has been made wrong more than a few times, so I’ve been going to a different Starbucks now. I decided to give them another try this morning. I didn’t realize that my boyfriend had left a review recently essentially saying, if you can’t make an iced coffee, don’t be a barista. So I kindly and specifically asked for his drink to be made a certain way. They were still sort of polite to my face, but purposely made my drink wrong instead. I’m sorry that someone else’s review hurt y’all’s feelings, but it seems counterproductive to be actively trying to displease customers. I’ve got the message, we will go to a different Starbucks now, I am just surprised at the level of immaturity/lack of professionalism. I actually used to work at Starbucks myself, so I know people can be rude sometimes, but maybe look into something that involves less customer service if you can’t help but be malicious when things don’t go your way… I hope you find what you are...
Read moreI absolutely love Starbucks, but today was a bit disappointing. About 30 minutes ago, I was picking up a mobile order for myself and my friend. At the drive-thru speaker, I clearly mentioned that I was there to pick up both orders. When I got to the window, the barista handed me my order. I reminded her about my friend's order, and she responded with a rude attitude, saying, "Next time, say that at the box." Despite us already mentioning there were two orders, she handed over my friend's order with a petty attitude and asked, "Do you need anything else?" We explained again that we had mentioned both orders, and she just said "ok" and slammed the drive-thru door shut. To top it off, my matcha wasn't blended properly, with all the sugar and matcha floating at the bottom, no matter how hard I tried to mix it. This experience really ruined my day, and I hope something is done about this.
By the way this is about the Asian girl barista! please do something about this, she was...
