Came here from Fayetteville for the first time. The reviews seemed good. I ordered 2 medium goat plates and a cow foot soup. The food ālookedā good. I came home and ate my soup. It had zero cow foot in it. More like vegetable and dumpling soup. (I am from West Indian descent. Trinidad and Barbados). But overall , The soup was edible and got me full, so I decided to let my plate cool down for an hour and then refrigerated it. My husband also put his in the fridge to take to work with him the next day. By the grace of God , the soup saved me from eating that food. I went to heat my food up the next day, the smell when I took the lid off lit my whole kitchen up. Very bad smell. I threw it away. My husband came from work and said, ā where did u get that food from?ā Said from the time he left home and made it to work 30 mins later, his whole car smelled of bad food. He ended up throwing it away. The food had to be old . More than 2 days old . Because there is no way that it should have smelled so bad in less than 24hrs . Iām disgusted and disappointed. They know that the food is not cooked daily. I will never ever in my life return. Please smell your food and be cautious. Plus I didnāt like the fact that they scan you card for payment on their personal phone . Itās a no for me. Please do better.
Update to owner Response- Everyone that knows about food knows that u so not put hot food directly into the fridge . Thatās first and foremost. Secondly, I stated I let my food cool down. My husband put his food directly in the fridge. Also, my refrigerator is cold to the point my veggies have frost on them. I also have a smart refrigerator. Instead of making excuses on how your food was sour and smelly less than 24hrs later. I spend damn near 60 dollars there. Itās no reason for me to lie . I drove 30 mins because of the reviews . Instead of humbling yaself and being sincere , u post a sarcastic remark. If I wanted a refund believe me u would have had zero say in me getting a refund. I would have drove the 30 mins and 100 percent u would have refunded me or shut down. Your food is spoiled, disgusting, and I would never support possible illegal immigrants that feel the need to be unkind about someone that took the time to give yāall a try. Asked for spicy Jerk Chicken and it was not.For the price you would think you would get more meat than what you're given. Also rice and peas no longer come with the meal, you get two sides. If you want the rice and peas that is one of your two sides. It should be a sign stating that before you order, because no one mentions the change before you order .Food used to be really good to me. I will go back to the restaurant I was going to before I found out about this one.
Response to the owner: You just clarified what I typed about the rice and peas not included with the meal anymore to be true in your response. Read my review carefully before you say my review is false. Just because I did not word it the way you did does not mean it's false. Being that it is not included with the meal anymore and I have to ask for it means it's considered as one of the two sides. Your employees are the ones who told me over the phone and after letting me see my food before it's bagged and I pay for it. SO if I am wrong for what I typed about what I was told and shown check your employees for false information. I live in the same world you live on so I am TOTALLY aware of the price hikes, and I understand that .There's a review on here that's stating the same thing I stated about the rice and peas no longer included with the meal that you did not respond to. Your portions have been small before the hike . There's also other reviews stating for the price before the price hike complaining about not enough portions that you also didn't respond to. You should take ALL of your customers into consideration instead of just some who don't want starch. I've been inside waiting in line on two different occasions and have seen and heard customers saying that's all the meat you get for the price before the hike and I still spent money with you because of the taste of the food. I usually DoorDash my food when they first open, but this day it was a walkin during the afternoon. I ordered large oxtail (with cabbage & rice and beans), large curry goat ( with cabbage & rice and beans), 2 beef patties, jamaican pasta and vanilla cake. I never had Jamaican pasta and was told by the young lady Kam, working the counter that it was just like mac and cheese. I was expecting a "hot" pasta, but it was just macaroni salad with vegetables. And it had no flavor whatsoever. When I think Jamaican, I'm thinking spicy and seasoned food. I threw it away at the restaurant. I left and went home and started to eat my food. The cabbage had corn in it (which I never seen before from Trelawny) and it was very sweet. The rice & beans were very sweet as well. And I'm not a diabetic. The beef patties were not filled and were hard. I called back and asked for a replacement of the rice and beans and cabbage. I choose the mac and cheese because it's always been good. The mac and cheese was hot but not seasoned! I ended up throwing all the food away and going to another Jamaican restaurant to get what I wanted. I was HIGHLY disappointed in Trelawny with this order. I spent close to $60 in food just to throw it away.
EDIT: 5/18/2022 I went in to Trelawny today and explained to the owner what happened. She was very nice about it and was issued a refund. This one bad experience won't keep me from patronizing their business...
