A lady in this store, I don't know if she is the boss's wife, has a very bad attitude. I clearly called to ask if there is any roast duck left, and she said there is half a duck. I said I was on the way and would be there soon, so my husband hurried over to buy it. When we went there to ask her, she said there was only a small half. My husband said, "Didn't my wife call to ask if there was any half duck left? And didn't she say it would be there soon? When it arrived, there was only a small half left. She kept repeating that you only said you were on the way and didn't say you would keep it. You said you were on the way, so I ran over because you said you had it. When you got there, you still had the nerve to say you only said you were on the way and didn't say you would keep it. We said you were on the way, why would I go to your store if you said you didn't have it? Do we go to your store because you are old and ugly, and you don't keep your word and are still making excuses? My husband talked to her nicely, but she still got angry. Such a store can't have much business, it has no credibility at all. And the food is not very delicious, the roast duck is salty...
Read moreMay May Hong Kong BBQ is a highly-regarded destination for outstanding Chinese BBQ. Conveniently located across from the Commons of Federal Way, the restaurant serves BBQ pork with a perfect balance of sweetness and side pork with an optimal salt content.
The side pork was previously slightly salty. Patrons can choose to dine inside or opt for takeout, although it is recommended to call ahead or arrive early, as the restaurant occasionally sells out of BBQ. On New Year's Day, I was fortunate to find the restaurant open and was able to purchase 3 pounds of BBQ pork and half a pound of side pork, which was the remaining quantity available. The price for BBQ pork is $12.95 per pound, and side pork is $13.95 per pound.
My total expenditure, including tax and gratuity, came to $64.00 for takeout. I provide this information to offer a rough estimate of costs. It would go up eventually due to inflation.
I highly recommend May May Hong Kong BBQ to anyone visiting the Federal Way area. The restaurant offers ample parking and is conveniently located adjacent to...
Read moreI was so excited to try this place because it’s near to my hairdresser. The reviews were great and the pictures look good…
I ordered beef brisket wonton noodle soup while I decided what other veggie dish to get. Everything looked promising because the other customers were Cantonese.
I’m so sad to say that this was the worst wonton I’ve ever had in my life (even compared to a place in Laramie, WY). The filling was incredibly hard and even crunchy…. It felt old? But not in a spoiled way. It was dark brown and the wrapper didn’t have loose ends and just kinda crumbled apart. I ate a few but decided it wasn’t worth eating so I left the rest of it and just eat the soup, noodles and veggies because I was really hungry.
Pretty heartbroken to leave a less than stellar review because I really wanted to like this place and add it to my regular spots. I ended up not getting any other dishes because I was so disappointed.
Service was okay. It came out to under $18 after tax and tip. Feeling very...
