I have never encountered such poor customer service at an establishment as I did during my recent visit to this venue. While my initial experience was satisfactory, and the food was enjoyable, I anticipated a pleasant outing with my 70-year-old mother and my husband to indulge in some soul food, as my mother greatly appreciates this cuisine.

Upon our arrival, we were not greeted warmly, nor did we receive any friendly acknowledgment. I inquired about a table and was informed that none were available. When I asked if there was a waiting list, I was again told there was not. Consequently, I escorted my mother back to the car and waited.

A customer informed me that I could be seated at a table, yet another staff member attempted to seat a couple who arrived after us ahead of my party. Fortunately, one of the other employees intervened, allowing us to sit down. However, we then experienced an unacceptable wait of 30 to 35 minutes without anyone attending to us, bringing menus, water, or silverware. Eventually, a server from the bar area approached and noted that she guess she would assist us, although she was not our designated server and only delivered menus after a prolonged wait.

When I attempted to gain the attention of another staff member for assistance before we received our menus and silverware, she blatantly ignored me, which was disheartening. I expressed my need for clarification on who was responsible for our table, and her startled reaction indicated that she had indeed heard me. Despite my frustrations, I refrained from leaving immediately, as I am a business owner and a server myself, and I prefer not to disparage others’ establishments.

It is apparent that this establishment requires significant improvement in its service standards. When the owner eventually emerged into the waiting area, she did not acknowledge any patrons, either those waiting or those currently dining. Her demeanor suggested she was overwhelmed, as she admonished a fellow employee regarding the volume of food orders. Moreover, for the price of $70, it was unacceptable for my meal to arrive at a lukewarm temperature.

During my wait, I observed numerous patrons who arrived after us receiving prompt service in the form of water and silverware, whereas we were overlooked entirely. This experience constituted an exceptionally poor level of service, leading me to the conclusion that I cannot return or recommend this...

First, I want to say that I had to write this review! I was so impressed, I wish they were right next to my business. I had been looking for a place that actually sold real soul food done the right way!!! I had no idea they were there. This is absolutely, Ferguson Missouri’s best kept secret!!! Well the secret is out!!!

King Soul, is a quant environment with lite music. It is a place to take a date or your spouse for just some time away to enjoy their presence over a wonderful meal. It is a family oriented place which upon us arriving my wife and I had conversations with other tables. It was a friendly environment and it was packed! Shockingly, we were seated quickly and the waitress we had really was organized and greeted us exceptionally well with the biggest most beautiful smile. We knew we were in the right place! She was thorough and gave great suggestions. We began looking around and saw all of these different meals everyone had and everyone plates looked so great! The smell in the place let you know that these people know how to cook! I get hungry again just talking about them.

I ordered the chicken breast which was so juicy and full of flavor with a lite flaky breading dipped in a red sauce which was had a perfect balance of sweet and tangy. I ordered greens, cabbage, Mac and Cheese, sweet potatoes, and dressing. Yes I ordered all of that to taste all of the flavors. I literally ordered 4 meals total, 2 of which to take home for the next day. My wife ordered catfish! Everything was a 10 except the Mac and cheese was a 9.5 because my wife makes the best Mac and cheese!( I had to say that to stay out of trouble)!

The caramel cake is a must have !

I highly recommend trying this place! We drove 1:10 min to get here from where we live. It was absolutely worth it!

What a wonderful black owned business! We need more places like this! Please open another by my store at 9814 St. Charles Rock Rd. Breckinridge Hills Mo. 63074 or out in Wentzville Mo. You will do very well!
