This place was on my list to try so when I saw a review and an advertisement for their 1 year anniversary the next day I decided to go. Like many others, I was looking forward to trying the salmon bites, but they had tacos, combo plates and free lemonade as their special menu items.
I got there about an hour after they opened, not too many people inside, but it still took an hour to get the food [1 beef, 1 chicken and 1 salmon birria taco, 1 chicken and fish plate (I didn't specify salmon bites so I ended up with a filet) and 2 lemonades (peach and watermelon)].
The young lady at the register was SUPER nice and made sure the order rang up with the correct total based on the advertisement. I would also like to point out how nice the atmosphere was- very clean, decent amount of seating for the size of the establishment, although it's better suited for people waiting than eating, nice pictures of the St Louis artists (although I felt like they did Pretty Willie dirty with a blurry picture lol), and the music videos on the playlist were all edited so I didn't feel like my elderly mom would be uncomfortable watching or listening 👍🏾
Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed by the food. The chicken wings lacked seasoning, which is only a "plus" for people planning to use sauce. All the tacos were on the bland side for my tastes, the menu says the salmon taco comes with a white sauce but I was given birria sauce for all, the fish was a little overcooked and the fries were.. cold? Old? Both? I also got 3 sauces on the side (for $.50 each) rather than having the fish and chicken tossed in sauce for $1/item. I liked the sweet and spicy, but the honey garlic was SO sweet and had almost fully separated once I got home, and I just couldn't get with the lemon garlic. I was going to add some hot sauce to the honey garlic to see if it would tone down the sweet, but I think my mom used it before I could.
I still want to try the salmon bites, but I'm glad I went when the food was discounted. I'm not sure what was happening in the kitchen but from the standpoint of a customer, who also works in food service, while I appreciate food being made to order, when you run a special menu you can bet a majority of the orders are going to be items on that short list, so batching out food once the orders start rolling in seems like a given to expedite tickets. My "order ready" text came almost 40 minutes after my receipt time, and it was another 20 minutes before I actually got it.
The lemonade was...
Read moreDecided to try them out because so many people been bragging about them. First and foremost I suggest you order ahead because the way is long. I order online and it was about 30mins until i received a text saying my order was ready. Now the atmosphere is nice. Definitely small in the inside but it’s nice. Customer service. The lady behind the counter was pleasant even with the crowd that she had so that was a plus!!! Now for the food, I had order the the combo plate with the wings, salmon bites, fries and dinner roll. I didn’t receive my dinner roll….ok cool no biggie….. the salmon bites was good season it taste like ANDYS seasoning and for the wings they was so PLAIN with no seasoning. The fries wasn’t even season like the website stated. Idk if they was having a bad day but I definitely didn’t see what the...
Read moreToday was our first time eating their food. I ordered burgers for me and my guy. He had a double and I had a single with 2 honey hot wings. The food was very delicious. The burgers were seasoned as well as the fries. My chicken was very delicious and has a great combo of honey/hot. I wasn’t a big fan of their cheese sauce though. It’s really thick and flavorless. I did order from uber eats and my food was still at a decent temperature. I will rate the atmosphere when I eat in. I would definitely eat here again. Oh and there was a spicy sauce also and I dipped my burger in it. It was...
