Was hoping to get homestyle cooking but avoid yet another trip to cracker barrel on our way through the area. Unfortunately it's only "homestyle" if your mama can't cook. We had toasted ravioli (when in Missouri, right?) it was well overcooked and hard to eat, taste wise it was toasted ravioli from a giant food sevice bag I'm sure.. same for the fried cauliflower- generic out of the freezer bag. My husband had a spicy burger and fries which were pretty much as expected, I had fried chicken with a side salad and corn. I couldn't eat anything except the salad and fries. The chicken was extremely gamey tasting. Maybe I'm biased, I grew up on a poultry farm, I expect chicken to be something much different than what I got. Again, didn't seem homemade unless your mom is Sisco restaurant supply. The corn was extremely overcooked and gummy without a grain of seasoning or a drop of butter. When the best thing you can say about an almost $50 lunch is "the fries were good" something is wrong. The staff seems nice and I'm sure they try but unfortunately this was basically cafeteria food or greasy spoon diner food without the greasy spoon. I can't fathom what a steak or ribs would have been like. I overhead the lady at the table next to me talking to her waitress trying to figure out how subbing a half order of onion rings instead of fries gets you a nearly $5 upcharge. Can't say as I'd understand...
Read moreFirst time ever at Pasta House; never ate here before. The hostess was on the phone when I walked in. I politely stepped aside to wait for her to finish her phone call. I thought she would have said, "Hi, I'll be right with you ma'am" but she ignored me. She hung up the phone and still ignored me. Then the phone rang again and she answered it! So I walked over to the kitchen window the waiters/waitresses pick up food from and the gentleman told me I had to let the woman who ignored me know I was there to pick up my call in order. I told him she did NOT acknowledge me at all and she continued to talk on the phone. So a waitress came over but I was so annoyed at the fact the hostess lacked common sense I told them I didn't want to give them my money for food. Then the hostess who ignored me sarcastically said, "Well you were over there!" She didn't even have sense enough to know I was waiting for her to get off the phone SMH. She seems like she has a crack addiction and shouldn't be at the host desk. She needs to be trained. When a customer is in front of you, they are the priority. You do not continue to answer the phone. The phone can wait until you take care of the customer...
Read moreI grew up in North County and have ate at this location multiple times. Back then, it was the best. I moved away about 25 yr ago and was back in town in Nov 22. We placed 2 carry out orders; 1) Chicken Liver Linguine and 2) Tortellini. Two of our favorite dishes. Three of us that shared the Chicken Liver Linguine got food poisoning. I reported it to the store and never heard back so I called corporate and they did refund us the cost of the chicken liver dinner. They also try to pass it off that we could have gotten a stomach bug, because nobody else reported anything. I should have went with our gut instinct. When we pulled in the parking lot around 730pm, there was only two cars in the lot. I looked at my daughter and said this isn't good, but we noticed they closed at 8pm so maybe that's why there is nobody here. Would I eat here again NO WAY. Would I eat at Pasta House again. Naw, not after the corporate manager try to say it was a stomach bug. Come on we got food poisoning so something isn't being done correctly at this location. BTW, some of the chicken liver was under cooked, that's when we quit eating it but...
