Edit: Reduced my review from 4 to 1 stars. While I appreciate the work your bread maker does, there is no need for management to be condescending when replying to my opinion, which I'm entitled to. I understand the potential health benefits and extra cost of unbleached, unenriched flour, so please spare me the lecture. Additionally, I bake bread myself at home recreationally, and I understand it is time consuming and hard work. I never doubted the quality of the product, but IN MY OPINION it is not worth the price being charged. As the consumer, I determine the value by what I'm willing to pay. That is economics and business 101. If the remainder of your customer base disagrees, so be it as they're entitled to their opinion, and I'm clearly not your target customer. I'm sorry if you and your bread maker are "triggered", but it sounds like you both need to grow up and show some professionalism when running a business. I don't need to be villainized because I value my money as much as your bread maker and act like I'm stealing food from his mouth. I also have a job and work hard. Your response is ridiculous and one of the rudest interactions I've had with a business over a review, nevermind a good one at that. Good luck with everything, but you need to get some thicker skin and a better attitude. We came for breakfast/brunch and ordered the breakfast BLT and French Toast. The food was great, and I really enjoyed the lemon aioli on the BLT. My wife loved the potatoes that came with the BLT. The service was exceptional, as was the atmosphere. There was ample garden outdoor seating with patio heaters and some seating inside. The experience and food were great, but our only complaint were the prices. They were exorbitantly high, even for premium breakfast foods. The French Toast was $16 and included nothing else. The BLT was $17. Juices were $5 a glass but didn't seem fresh squeezed. It should be noted the portions were generous, but they probably should have been more appropriately priced $2-3 less, which is what we'd expect to pay for a high quality breakfast.

A beautiful building from S 3rd street. Basically a house turned into a restaurant. Parking can be tricky if you don't get here before 10am so plan accordingly. Especially with street parking scarce. Arrived Sat morning about 9:30. We were asked if we had reservations which this was our first visit and didn't realize they took reservations. May be advisable if arriving after 10am. The menu is rather extensive so I looked over pictures to influence my decision. Settled for the classic but was torn between the French toast / Pancakes or a biscuit with sausage gravy. So the server suggested instead of getting the toast get a biscuit with a side of the sausage gravy. Also the meat on most of the meals are extra. Settled for Bacon In conclusion the breakfast was pretty good. The bacon was crispy like I like it, eggs scrambled nicely. The cheese grits were okay, I’m just used to plain well seasoned grits and mix it with my eggs. The biscuit pretty big, however I didn’t like that they cut the biscuit in half and toasted it. When putting sausage gravy on a biscuit I like the biscuit to be moist and fluffy when I open it so the gravy will soften the biscuit easily. The toasted sides didn’t allow the gravy to soak well. So it was just okay. My wife got the French toast with strawberries. She liked it very much, however when I tried it, I thought it was rather dry. The toast was a huge thick piece of bread so I like mine soaked through with the egg wash. It was lightly dipped. So for me I wouldn’t order it if I came here again. I know this review seems rather picky but I wanted to give it a thorough review so you can decide for yourself. My honest opinion they nickel and dime you for every thing on the menu. Everything costs extra. The total bill for two people was like $61 That’s just too much for breakfast. I will more than likely not return due to the price. To each his own.

The short: this place is a must and absolutely competes against Beach Diner and top breakfast places within FB and Jax areas. Our experience was amazing, and the food and service was top notch. Highly recommend and will absolutely return. Pros: the service was spectacular. They were very friendly and detailed oriented. They brought out stuff for our little one to color and asked her what her favorite fruit was. She said banana and they brought some bananas with her pancake. That level of service is above and beyond. The atmosphere is very quaint and relaxing. There is outside seating with heaters and fans depending on the weather, and inside seating. It's very nice for family or a romantic time with your significant other. Last, but not least, the food. Everything was delicous and warm. The gravy and homemade biscuits were our favorite and I highly recommend. Warning: they are addictive! The mimosas and other wine options are a perfect touch to your entree, and they were delicious. Apparently, people are saying the wait was a lot. Our wait was very little. If this place is packed, I can see how you may wait a bit, like any other place that is packed. Also, just about everything is made in house. You're not going to have delicous and fresh homemade food in 5 minutes. If you want fast food, go get fast food. If you want local and fresh and amazing food, come here. No cons!

The waitress was pleasant. The food was just good. Not bad but also not anything I’d be like omg you should go eat this it was so good. It had flavor and it was cooked correctly. It did take a little long to get based on the simple things we ordered but ok. My low rating is due to pricing. I didn’t read the whole menu and my kids are teens so I don’t order for them so I wasn’t reading the description of what they got. There were 4 of us. The 7 year old got a plain pancake that came with a side of fruit. One teen also got just a plain pancake and they asked if she wanted bacon or sausage and she got the sausage. The other got a scrambled egg breakfast burrito. The teens got a tea and the 7 year old lemonade. I got the avocado toast which was a singular piece of toast with an avocado mashed on top and little bit of feta sprinkled on and a little side sauce dish of chopped tomatoes and onion which was 8.00. I thought it was pricey just for the one piece of toast. But what topped it off was to find out my daughter’s plain pancake was 12.00 and that the sausage that she thought came with it didn’t. The 2 little sausage links, that were clearly just pre frozen links, were 6.00. 3.00 per link and didn’t come with the pancake at all. So 18.00 for her 1 plain pancake and 2 little sausage links. And on top of that the lemonade was 3.00 (which was high for the size but I’d even expect that) and the teas were 3.95 each for tall skinny glasses that may hold 10 oz of liquid after all the ice. I’ve lived my whole life in the south on sweet tea and have never paid 4.00 a cup for it anywhere, not even when we’ve gone to upscale restaurants . It doesn’t even cost 4.00 to make a gallon of tea. And the girls didn’t even like the tea, they said it tasted off like peach or something when it was supposed to be just plain tea. I understand about inflation and it’s hitting all of us but it definitely wasn’t worth the 65 and change pre tip that the bill came to for 1 piece of toast with an avocado smashed on it, 1 kids pancake, 1 adult pancake, 2 sausage links, 1 egg breakfast burrito, 1 lemonade and 2 teas. We won’t be back. It most definitely wasn’t worth the money we spent on...

Excited to experience the “best French toast” on Amelia Island. After waiting for a table for 40min, and witnessing extremely poor discussions between front of the house and the hostess about patrons inside the building, we were happy to be seated.

The waiter was pleasant, and took our order right away. He did stipe by our table again after approximately 45min stating our food was the next order coming out of the kitchen.(1 omelette as listed, no substitutions, and 2 French toast with sausage links, water and coffee). My coffee was refreshed once and the water glasses were not refilled.

We waited 75 minutes for our food to be delivered from the time of order placement. Daughter stated the omelette was “fine” but a bit cold. She did not receive her side order of fruit . Son and I had the WORST French toast ever. The bread was so dry it was hard to swallow even doused in 2 servings of syrup. The side order of my blueberries and sliced strawberries were fresh and sweet. The color of the cooked challah was lovely, however, there was no egg mixture soaked into the stale bread prior to toasting it. Again, it felt like we ate sand for breakfast. The lack of available water/coffee to help wash it down only contributed to the difficulty.

The convert house was a cute venue, and there a patio outside that appeared partially occupied.

The number of waitstaff appeared acceptable to the number of tables inside. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen.

Front of house staff was not seen in the dining room checking in on patrons or with their staff for the duration of our substandard meal.

While the waiter appeared to be a victim of kitchen timing, not refilling beverages, or double checking orders were complete (after finally receiving plates) were his short comings.

Very disappointed.

We typically follow trip advisor recommendations and reviews when traveling to new areas. Previous reviews of this establishment led us astray.
