I was recommended this stop by my waitress after having a lovely dinner elsewhere. They had so many flavors and not the usual fare you see at other ice cream shops. They had a good variety of familiar flavors as well as some house concoctions. Please note, this is an outdoor seating only establishment. Not a deal breaker for me at all as it was a lovely cool cloudy day in August. Besides, I took it back to my hotel to enjoy like a gremlin in the privacy of my hotel room. I tried a four scoop sampler of the following: Chocolate Raspberry Truffle, Strawberry Cheesecake Chunk, Seasonal Key lime Pie, and Graham Central Station. The chocolate raspberry was Awesome! Heavy dark chocolate contrasted by the fresh, bright and acidic raspberries was an excellent combo. The seasonal key lime pie was good, it tasted more like a like sherbet with graham crackers throughout. Not bad but not the best out of this bunch. The strawberry cheesecake chunk was good. Nice sized chunks of cheesecake and good punchy strawberry throughout. The graham central station. Damn. This was my favorite of the four I tried. It was the texture for me. You have their creamy ice cream with ribbons of crushed graham cracker and -hear me out- chocolate covered honeycomb. Not honeycomb the cereal or the real-thing from a beehive, but the candy, 'honeycomb'. I forget about that old candy. But let me tell you the combination of the crunch of the honeycomb, with the slightly soggy graham cracker and the creamy ice cream. Do yourself a favor and get a scoop. Share with a friend. You'll...
Read moreNEVER IN MY LIFE have I asked for a strawberry sundae and received strawberry ice-cream with strawberries and whip cream on top. Yet the same young man has managed to do it twice this month. I assumed when asking for a strawberry sundae, I would receive the classic vanilla ice-cream with strawberry syrup, and strawberries on top. Fearing this might happen a 2nd time when the same young man took my order at the window, I politely asked when handed the “strawberry sundae”...”Hey, isn’t a sundae typically vanilla ice cream?” To which he replied “Oh no, it can be any flavor.” While he did offer to remake it for me, I just wanted to make a point. He could’ve at least asked what flavor of ice-cream I wanted if he was unsure. Especially when your own menu has the following description of a Sundae: “Fashioned with vanilla ice cream, and your choice of toppings that include Caramel Marshmallow, Pineapple, Strawberry, Cherry, Peanut Butter, Chocolate Syrup, Vanilla Syrup or Hot Fudge (seasonal toppings available), topped off with a mountain of whipped cream.”
(Ice cream was...
