Tiburon is an absolute delight of a dining experience. I went for my birthday this year and it was hands down the best meal I've had in Fishers.
We started with a few pieces of blue fin toro sushi, which were the best bites of sushi I've had since moving to the area.
I had the Pecan crusted halibut with purple mashed potatoes, flash fried Brussels (I substituted this instead of the spinach), dijon honey cream and blistered tomatoes. The fish was tender and flaky, the crusting added great texture and butteriness. The purple potatoes were outstanding and perfectly seasoned. The Dijon cream really brought it all together. Zero complaints. A very well composed dish.
My fiance had the miso honey glazed seabass with lobster risotto (a substitution guy the crab risotto) and charred asparagus. The fish and glaze were amazing. Best sea bass I've ever tasted, the glaze was dynamite. The lobster risotto is the only food I can complain about during the whole meal. It's decent, but very one-note and gets kind of overbearing. The asparagus were good too.
Then the dessert... The best carrot cake I've ever eaten. Perfectly balanced. Not too sweet (I swear they used honey), great presence of the warm spices, just enough nuts and raisins. Divine.
My fiance had the lemon posset, which was light and refreshing. This is a perfect dessert if you just want a little something that isn't heavy and you're a lover of fruit. Again, not too sweet. Well balanced with the fruit components.
The atmosphere was nice and the booth was comfy, but the restaurant is very open with a lot of hard surfaces, so it gets pretty loud when the restaurant is full.
Overall: Absolutely five stars, the first one I've given in a long time. I will come back...
Read moreI recently visited Tiburon and had a mixed experience. The good news was that the food was excellent and the ambience was delightful, making for a great dining atmosphere. However, I was disappointed that it took over 30 minutes for a waiter to greet our table. We arrived early for our reservation and decided to enjoy a cocktail at the bar while waiting to be seated. Once seated at our table 5 minutes went by and no one came and checked on us and brought us water. As someone who works as a server at a restaurant in Chicago the main goal should be to greet your table in a timely manner (within 45 seconds) and grab your guests water or their first round of drinks. It wasn’t until, who I believe is a manager comes by and brings us water who also commented on the fact that we had not had anyone bring us any water yet. Sitting and waiting now for an additional 25 mins it’s now 8:40 and no server has come by at all. We had to flag down this same manager and let him know no one has still come by and greeted us. Once the server finally arrived he never introduced himself or did a quality check on the food to ask us how it was or gave us any recommendations. After finishing our meal before asking us if we wanted another round of drinks he drops the check. I’m very disappointed because I was looking forward to try this new restaurant in Indy. I’m shocked that the manager who originally checked on us in the beginning never came back by to ask us how everything was too ensure we were happy after this whole fiasco. Really unfortunate as this restaurant has great potential as the food was delicious and the atmosphere and decor is great! I hope they can sort out their...
Read moreWhen we first arrived, the hostess tried to harvest our personal info like name and phone number, even though we did not make reservations. Whats up with that? Server spilled the water from water glass on the table and stated that he usually has a dish rag, but used his hand to squeegee the water off the table, on to the floor. What?? Ordered 3 rolls, lobster, Rainbow and Dragonfly. We asked how the lobster was on the lobster roll and server stated that it was lumps of lobster. What we got was a small bit of something that was pureed on top of a roll. I tasted just that portion that was suppose to be lobster and it had absolutely No flavor. It could have been ground soy beans as far as I could tell. For that matter, the crab on the other roll was the same way. All the rolls had No flavor, paper thin fish slices and all you could taste is Lots of rice. I might have well be eating just balls of rice and would not know the difference. I have Never in 45 years of eating Sushi all over the Country, had such a bad, Overpriced experience. This place is disgusting. The seaweed salad was good though. Beware about these so called reviews about this place, because they are obviously faked or from people that eat dog food,...
