Hunan West — Restaurant in Flagstaff

If I could give 0 stars I would, I really should've listened to the bad reviews! I was visiting Bellemonte, craving chinese and this place has "Voted Best in Flagstaff," in their window. I call, order Chicken w Broccoli super meal, wonton soup, eggroll/pork ragoons & fried rice, and a order of just mongolian chicken. Now, if these were huge portions I would've been satisfied but I arrive she says $35 and hands me a single bag... What? The super meal is $17 meaning that A la carte chicken was $15 ish? Thats crazy! I was already there and hungry so whatever I just take it. I have never been more disappointed in my LIFE. The rice was definitely old, it was cold, dry and the peas in it were stiff! The Chic w Broccoli was so disgusting, that sauce is definitely old or something it tasted like how things taste when they're frozen and warmed multiple times. The wonton soup, broth was okay very salty but the soup had literally just cabbage & 1 wonton Lol. And that wonton was so gross, it was rubbery and plastic tasting, just so lackluster. The chicken w broccoli was more bean sprouts than anything, and the mongolian chicken had some weird topping on it? I think it was supposed to be some fried thing, but they were just dry and stale. I've never felt more disappointed in a restaurant than this place. If this was voted best in town, SURELY yall have not had Panda Express before, even that fast food chain puts out more flavorful...

11 Months ago I wrote a really great review. After My visit today sunday thanksgiving weekend 2024, I Have lost all of my Respect and Appretiation for this business. My party of 4 came to eat here for lunch, we decided to share meals becaus ethe portions are normally large, we ordered 2 lunch specials , 2 extra soups, and an order of crab puffs. and 4 drinks. The portions were very small But that wasnt the part that upset me. Some how our 2 meals , 2 extra soups and 4 sodas was 75 dollars. I personally dont mind paying for quality/portion but this was far from it. The owner added on A gradituity to Our check(4 people) I typically Like to Tip via cash and I tip very well. So I did not Give them anything extra than there added amount(they missed out). Again you can see my review from 11 months ago and they have gone completely opposite direction than before. I questioned the price and she wasn't very helpful, I asked for a recipt and she tried to give me some chicken scratch on a piece of paper, I paid cash and felt like they stole my money. Im very dissapointed and so is the rest of my party. We have all been here before and we all will never return after this experience. Dont waste your time here. I have been going here for over 10 years and have enjoyed every meal and normally love the staff, however I didn't have the same experience on Sunday 5/21(please read the whole thing to save yourself). The woman server was incredibly rude to my family and I. She didn't like the fact that my daughter and niece were being kids and playing around at the table (they were quiet and polite by the way), she rudely waited until they were done to put down the drinks. This was just only a tidbit of our experience. She was clearly cranky or having a bad day and decided to take it out on our table. On Monday morning, I started having bad cramps and diarrhea, as well as my husband and sister. Today, Tuesday we are all still very sick. I got food positioning from this place. Even though I have loved Hunan dearly for a long time, I won't be back.. I am very very disappointed with the service and the food poisoning...
