Megh Indian Cuisine — Restaurant in Flagstaff

Love Indian and wanted to try the new spot in town. It definitely feels new but there is a lot of great potential.

Firstly, the food. Everything served was spectacular! The goat curry was tender and not at all gamey but maintained its flavour. The butter chicken was also delightful and seemed to include saffron in the recipe. A+. Also, be prepared for proper Indian spice if you get spicy.

As such, the prices seemed fair for the quality, but definitely expect a high price point (and be aware that proteins are only included at an upcharge). The fountain drinks are also highly priced at $4 but water is complimentary.

Service was well suited for sitting with family, enjoying the meal & company without interruption. That said, you may need to flag down your waitstaff for drink refills, etc.

Finally, the setting is very charming but did feel a little loud. The music felt a tad overpowering when paired with a full restaurant of conversation.

This place needs to get it's act together if they wish to succeed in this spot which has held many restaurants over the years. I know they have only been open a short time but that being said the services was terrible. Our table did not receive the appetizers we ordered and then after speaking to them about this we had no services whatsoever for a long period of time. The table next to us got their appetizers, main course and were leaving before we were able to order our main dishes. The food was decent but spice levels not what we ordered. The table next to us waited 40 minutes for their food as well. They seemed to lack any sort of system and looked very confused. Service was slow.... it took 5 minutes to get a one to-go bowl. Our waitress was not attentive to our needs and had to flag down other staff to get the check and our to go boxes (which she only brought one and we needed more), oh and get more water for the table while we were eating too. Their clove machine was not working and I had to wait to get my receipt; also.... there were flies buzzing around that I had to keep shooing away. It was also smokey in the restaurant like they do not have proper vents. We carried our boxes out since they did not bring a bag and we were waiting too long anyways.
