La Fonda Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Flagstaff

Salsa is bland and tastes strongly if tomato paste with a little bit of a bite. Ordered the lunch special with tacos and an additional carnitas taco on the side.

When I went to eat the carnitas taco it felt like it had just come out of the refrigerator. Even the meat inside of the taco was very cold to the touch. I informed a waiter who told me he would notify my server. After my server was not notified I told her in passing that the taco was cold. She mentioned something about the air conditioning and I informed her that the air conditioner would not make my taco as could as it was.

She took the taco back to the kitchen and returned about three minutes later informing me that the plate was hot. I also noticed the now melted cheese on top of the taco. Turns out the microwave only heated the plate and outer part of the taco. I opened the taco and plunged my finger into it's depths to discover.... Still cold meat!

I informed the waitress that this taco was also unacceptable and cold. She took my plate without saying anything to me and walked away.

After about five minutes I finally received my third, and hot, taco. It tasted pleasant but it was nothing to write home about. Over all poor service and...

I went to this restaurant because I had read reviews that it was great Mexican food. NOT TRUE...It is the most bland, sauce drenched food covered in cheese that I have ever eaten. I know this may sound gross, but quite honestly I had what looked like beef paté in what was called a ground beef taco. I quite honestly thought I was eating dog food. 🤮 The person that I came with, got the Saturday night special and we don't even know what type of meat it was. I wouldn't even call this place Mexican food. It is very americanized. The salsa tasted like spaghetti sauce with some Chili in it. I took pictures of the food because it looks so good, but I was so disappointed.

The only thing I can say about the restaurant that was good was the waitress !!!!! She was great, phenomenal !!!! Very attentive and informative about the menu, her name was Juliana G.

The sopapillas were pretty good, too.

I am still on the hunt for good Mexican food in Flagstaff. I will not be going back to this place. If you want good Mexican food don't waste your money here, it's overpriced for what you get, no flavor, no authenticity.

I didn't like the Mexican food here the refried beans was dry and there Spanish rice certain little grain of rice was hard and there shredded beef had way to much seasoning I took one bit of the taco and left it alone the cheese enchilada was ok and the salsa there chip's was a little cold should have been warm. Our waitress did a good job on checking up on us to see if we need any thing else but one little thing I didn't was how they sat a family of 4 right next to the mens bathroom the corner part of the restaurant which look like it was uncomfortable for them and they wanted to sit somewhere else but I didn't say anything because I'm not with that family but you can tell how mad the guy girlfriend or wife was and the waiter was neglecting them to refill there water and refilling there chips and salsa it was busy lunch time and they were being left out there kids were in there own little world of tablets and head phones which they sat calm the father look like he didn't care as long as he had his alcohol or beer in front of him he's alright and the bathroom was right there..but the restaurant look nice and was kept clean...
