Love the food here. The only thing that gets annoying is they want you to sign the receipt with a tip line. It would be one thing if the prices were cheaper and it asked. And if you could tip after food and service, not before.
Example : 4 chili cheeseburgers cost around $30 or $5 per. They are small and a normal chain would sell them for around $3 or $4.
The 3 employees were mainly screwing around.
My friend even mentioned how much of a mess it was in the building.
Any time we go it's just to the point with no real friendly attitude, it's usually a mess in there, but the food is good.
So as far as cost goes it's charging more than other places for a similar item. There's no service/atmosphere, and it's messy. The tip for the food is included in the extra $1 to $2 cost. No additional tip warranted for lack of service/atmosphere. No additional tip warranted for employees screwing around inside a messy establishment.
Maybe if it started stressing the employees should 1. work 2. keep things clean 3. provide a friendly service/atmosphere ... then yes I'd tip. The 4 star rating is simply for the food itself, everything else at this location has been lacking for years. And it's unlikely to change any time soon.
At one time the owner himself used to basically flag you forward even before you'd be done ordering. So you'd see him flagging you forward the whole time you are making your order, then finally pulling forward. Found that so annoying. It's never a good idea to make your customers feel rushed...
Read moreI have always LOVED the dog haus. Their customer service has always been great, always. Even with the new owners customer service n food remains at a great quality. However the old owner had a fifty cent charge on card transactions n explained it was because he was charged everytime he ran a card. Ok i get that. The new owners charge 3.75% on all card transactions n say it is because of the minimum wage increase. I call BS. Why is it only on cards if minimum wage is all the time. N if u buy just a corndog that 3.75%is cheap but if u buy a number 1 with chili cheese fries it come to a whopping $19 and change adding a surcharge of $.75 to one order. N thats just if i go n eat there alone. So not only do their prices go up (as they do) but then they r charging almost a dollar extra per meal. But if i bring the whole family n i dont stop by an atm because i want to use my card which was invented to make purchases easier i have to pay a hefty price in a world where most people dont use cash. N why is a meal at a fast food place costing nearly $20!!!!??? They are in the same old asbestos filled building they have always been in for 50 years or however long in one of the best locations so i dont understand why they have surcharges like ticket master or the electric company. Dont put it on the employees that u pay as little as u can so u can make money, so u can charge more money. I thought u raised ur prices because of the minimum wage increase so why r u double dippin on the...
Read moreFirst the good and then the bad. The Polish Sausage Sandwich is great. 2 juicy sausages with a crunchy pickle in between and slathered in mustard on rye bread. It looks and tastes handmade. So good!! Good price for The Polish Sandwich. The onion rings were easy to eat and super crispy. I hate thick cut onion rings because the whole onion tends to fall out. I loved the onion rings. Good size for a good price. Friendly, attentive employees. Clean outdoor seating. That being said. The Corn Dog is crispy, but overpriced. The french fries are tasteless I suggest ordering another side. The Sonoran Dog is laughable. A white take on a mexican classic. I hope locals know what a true Sonoran Dog is because that is not it. I took 2 bites and tossed it in the trash. Lol. For the morning I ordered The Spam Breakfast Burrito. Huge! But tasteless. Desperately needs seasoning. I should have ordered 2 Breakfast Sausage Biscuit Sandwiches instead. Those were good. The food gets cold fast so eat fast. The prices were the biggest bust, but I had a great experience and I will be back for that polish sausage and onion...
