First time here, not as good as the Huntsville location of course.., with not nearly as many buffet options as I thought they'd have..., (for breakfast which I did at least..), & sadly even though the waiter was as sweet as she could be and was doing the best that she could.., the way they had her working that entire half section of the restaurant by herself...., was just too much for one worker alone... And that resulted in us having trouble with getting any of our drinks, coffees, &/or refills ect. Which was understandable given that it wasn't her fault of course...! But with the rising costs of how expensive it now is there (roughly $15 per person each for the breakfast buffet), I just think they, the company themselves could/should be doing a bit better than this ya know...!! Now I LOVED that they had the dessert bar open during breakfast..!!! Though, it kinda summed to learn that the juice machine, the ice-cream machine, & also their Icee machine was all broken down though... They definitely have the money to get that all fixed but sadly as you see w/ a lotta companies/big corporations.., they just seem to not wanna spend the $ to fix anything... lol. Also, while I still found enough that I liked to fill me up decently enough..., some of their food was a little bland like the eggs, & sadly I couldn't enjoy none of their delicious looking/tasting lil mini waffles or their French toast or anything like that, that one takes syrup on/with it though, cause they had a super cheap 'Sugar Free' syrup version & their 'house syrup' (which they also don't even provide there at each table like you'd think they would ya know..!?), but that's only kept there at the buffet bar...., was honestly disgusting... & that sounds mean to say, geeze, but I'm serious...!!! Lol. It's obviously one of the super cheap watered down.. just worst tasting kind I've ever had...!! And it really left a weird bad taste in your mouth..! Lol. But now that I feel like such a buttole meanie.., (I'm sorry, I'm rlly not just tryna be ugly or negative either, I swear..! Lol), I'm gonna finish this off on a positive note..! The guy that works there, that was behind the grill, I believe he's also a teacher at I wanna say Brroks School..?? Though I may be mistaken on the school, not sure..!? He was just AWESOME..!!!! Just a super nice, cheerful, positive, energetic spirit that truly just knows how to make ya smile or laugh & brighten most anyone's morning, & just truly uplifted the entire mood/energy.....!! And he himself, could almost he enough to wanna bring people back time & time again...!! I can totally see why he's a teacher..! Lol. Overall, I am still likely to go back though maybe once more & give it another chance possibly.., just cause maybe it was simply a 1 time thing or simply just their breakfast that I'm just personally not a fan of or something... !? But if I do, I'll deff. be trying lunch/dinner next...
Read moreMy family and I dined in on after church on Sunday, 2/25/24. We selected Golden Corral because of the fried fish filets offered there. Had I known the only fried fish offered was bone in. I would have gone to a Chevron where the fish is usually excellent. A man later identified as the kitchen manager came through the dining room asking random diners if everything was ok. I took the opportunity to express my disappointment that the only fried fish offered was the bone in fish. I expressed that there should be an option of filets AND bone in fish. He angrily told me there was an option, baked fish. I attempted to explain my 9 year old did not know how to pick the fish from the bone and that as a grandparent, my vision is not what it once was. I could not take the risk of missing a bone and feeding it to her. There is the occasional bone in a fillet but noting compared to the fried fish being served today. I also expressed concern for older diners with more limited vision than my own. The fish is a liability for Golden Corral. At this point, he became hostile and screamed at me, "Then you can get out and don't come back!!" When I replied that I could dine anywhere I wanted, he accused me of raising my voice as he continued to shout at me. He then told me he was going to the bathroom and walked away. His exit was immediately followed by another employee who identified himself as the District Manager and the other employee as the kitchen manager. I informed him of the interaction with the kitchen manager. Adam Shackelford, the DM validated my concern regarding the fish. He apologized for his employee's behavior and stated he would handle it. I thanked him for his professionalism and for listening. We remained at Golden Corral for approximately 45 minutes longer as we searched for something my grandchild would eat. She ate an ear of corn and 2 strawberries and ice cream. During this time the kitchen manager returned to our table and in a hushed voice apologized for his actions stating he took full responsibility for what happened. I found the apology comical and insincere. Thanks Adam S. you tried. You were the redeeming grace for Golden Corral...
Read moreDISAPPOINTED!! Food was okay with the exception of mashed potatoes that were more potato chunks that mashed potatoes. I was brought a drink without ice. My spouse received a drink with a little ice. The waitress came by later and brought a small amount of ice in a cup and did apologized later and brought a small amount of ice. With the building being recently renovated prior to opening 2-3 wks ago I would expect new machinery, carpet and ect. The reason ourselves and several others did not get ice in our beverage was a problem with the ice machine. I can't imagine that new machines would malfunction in this time period. Also, the carpet was disgusting! It either hasn't been cleaned properly or was never replaced (my guess the later) as it was black and looked gross. IF this wasn't enough to make me question the cleanliness of the restaurant, the drink station area looked messy and the floor was wet and appeared to be dirty. In addition, I witnessed a waitress wash a tabletop and never touch the seat of the booth which you could clearly see pieces of food across the bench. After she passed the table several times, she proceeded to sit another set of customers on the dirty seat. The overall appearance of cleanliness was obviously...
