Just went in for fresh fish. But was taken aback by the steep prices.
Not a lot of options at the time we went in. Cod and sole was in the freezer case, but I feel those are typically cheap fish, anywhere. They had it priced at $9.99 a pound. Not bad. Not great.
Salmon was $24.95 a pound. Crazy.
We did give in and bought 2 whole Dungeness Crab that came out to $36. Yes. For 2. Crazy. Not crazy about the price, but it was tasty crab.
I'm from Hawaii and we get fresh fish and crab all the time and it's very pricey in Hawaii too, but not this pricey. I'm floored.
Went here on the recommendation by the Reedsport visitors center.
Not crazy about this place, but the lady who sold us the crab was nice. Thus 1 more star.
I think maybe the people who live in this area are just used to the prices, but I think it's overpriced.
You can get a nice salmon dinner, fully cooked with sides in a nice restaurant for $25. So $25 a pound and you gotta cook it yourself, no sides, seem steep.
Went to Safeway 2 minutes up the road and got 1 pound of wild caught sockeyed salmon for $9.99 a pound. It looked fresher. And nicer cuts. Brighter more vibrant fish. 'No color added.' I'll make it for...
Read moreThis so called “seafood” joint is an absolute disgrace to anyone who values quality, honesty, or basic customer service. Let’s start with the fish: they’re peddling farm raised salmon from Norway, the exact same stuff you’d find in the Costco freezer aisle, but marked up three times the price. It’s not even fresh! The entire operation feels like a calculated scam. They’re banking on you not noticing that you’re paying a premium for something you could grab at a fraction of the cost elsewhere. Want fresh seafood? You’re better off hitting up Fred Meyer or literally any grocery store, where you’ll get the same or better quality for a third of the price. Save your money and skip this overpriced middleman.
The lady working the counter rushes you through your order like she’s got somewhere better to be, barely giving you a moment to glance at the menu or process the absurd prices. It’s almost as if they don’t want you to stop and think probably because if you did, you’d notice the “fresh” fish is anything but and walk right out the door.
This place doesn’t deserve a single star, but since zero isn’t an option, I’ll begrudgingly give it one for existing....
Read moreWe are taste testing chowder along the coast, so this review is only for a bowl of clam chowder.... But I have to say it was absolutely fantastic! Flavorful and tasty, with the appropriate amount of potatoes (ie not too many) and clams. The clams weren't huge. I'm guessing they were chopped up, which I personally prefer (another location had huge clams in it, leading to lots of unnecessary chewing). I wouldn't say the chowder was particularly thick, but it didn't need to be. Rather it was creamy and just the right consistency- not too thick, not too thin.... Just right. Of the three chowders we had today, this was by far, by...
