I title this review: NOT WORTH THE PRICE AT ALL!!!!
My group of 12 just finished a race event and really wanted to enjoy our time in SC with a meal before we would packed up and leave the next morning.
I will share, I appreciate the fact they did make room for us while other restaurants had 1:30 hour wait times, reason they got the 2 stars instead of one.
I called to see if they can accommodate our group and they said yes, if we can arrive in 15 minutes and we were 6 minutes away. When I got a call back from the restaurant after they shared they will accommodate us and they almost backed out, I knew we should have just waited the time at the other restaurant. But they knew we were on the way and prepared our spot.
On the outside, it was dark and appeared closed in a corner of a plaza. Pretty scary looking at night. On the inside, the place was beautiful, very intimate looking & expensive, which is where I will go in further.
The host, manager and waitresses etc was pleasant but when we saw the menu and the food prices my group and I thought “Ok we are going to feast tonight”. We have no problem paying high end prices for a meal but the food better match the price!!! IT DID NOT MATCH AT ALL!!!!
I mean, Peddler, how dare you charge those prices and give a meal comparable to Denny’s or a low end restaurant. I had much better food at Wendy’s.
The best part of my meal was the salad my group made for ourselves at the buffet salad bar. The French onion soup was salty, with too much bread and the cheese was barely melted in it. My friends surf & turf meal was a steak with too much grizzle and shrimp on a skewer. My shrimp meal was over done rice with 2 skewers of shrimp. The pork chop was good for my husband but the amount of food on everyone’s plate was so minimum.
My other friend was saying he can tell his potato was boiled not baked. My side of button mushrooms looks as if it was out of a jar. The chicken tenders for our kids looked under fried very bland.
I’m sure it was not easy to make a meals for twelve but it still money we were paying and the kitchen was still open when we arrived. I usually read reviews and didn’t because we wanted to get something to eat. If I had read the low reviews, we could have just waited for much better food at half the price at Longhorn or Outback.
Do yourself a favor, if you don’t mind spending $26 for 2 skewers of medium-sized shrimp over overcooked white rice and a small bowl of jarred mushrooms with a salad you have to go to the salad buffet and make yourself, by all means this is your place. But of you want better food for half the price, wait for that 1:30 hours to pass elsewhere
And also, I have to question those 5 star reviews especially those staying how great their food was….I travel and was raised in NY & Miami been to Cali, Chicago, Las Vegas, etc and to say the food was great. Nah, I have to question where y’all been eating for real….Again the food is okay but not for the price they...
Read moreI have been here twice and both times I was disappointed. The first time, several Months ago, the service was ok but the steak was over cooked and all of our tables food did not come at the same time. There were six of us at a table and one couple was just getting their food when the rest of us were getting dessert. My most recent experience was horrible for start to finish. My wife and I decided to give it one more chance. Upon arrival the hostess acted as if she did not have time to deal with us and basically just threw our menus on the table and walked away. Our server was very nice and had it not been for her we would have walked out. My wife and I both ordered steak, rare, the steak was medium well. We asked that it be redone and when it came back it was still overcooked and medium. The steamed vegetables had so much msg on them that you would have thought we were at a Chinese buffet. I ordered Tiramisu for dessert, I'm not sure what they brought out but it was not Tiramisu. My wife ordered key lime pie. As expected at this point, it was some food vendor frozen pie. Needles to say we will not be returning to...
Read morePeddler Steak House provided me with an excellent steak, crisp and fresh salad bar, and friendly service for an extremely competitive price. Atmosphere-wise, it's somewhere inbetween the casual atmosphere of the outback and the more fine-dining atmosphere of Victors. But I found their young wait and bar staff to be enthusiastic (Taylor took great care of us!) and effective. They have a good and very inexpensive wine list (we had the Magnolia Cab Sav at only $17/bottle and the 14 hands Cab at $24 and enjoyed both). My steak was a delicious cut of meat (filet mignon) and perfectly cooked. The salad bar seemed odd to me style-wise, but was very fresh and tasty - a good addition. Add to that a loaded baked potato and button mushrooms and I was a happy, clean-plater! Probably my only disappointment was the bread, which was not warm or very fresh, but had no impact on the overall dining experience. If you're looking for a nicer meal for a very competitive price, give Peddler Steak...
