2 stars only because of how kind Kim was. The assistant manager Herman is horrible. Not the first time dealing with him where before it was vailed hostility, but definitely the worse today. Ive been using scan and go since it first came out and been a regular at thos store for 3 years or more. Other than one other time, staff is always friendly and helpful or at worse indifferent, but not today. After telling the door person nkt to touch anything but ill pull out whatever is wanted, she grabbed some produce. So after being scared out, I set the produce on the customer service desk and got different ones. I was stopped when leaving. I was already out of the first door when they called me saying they needed to recheck my recite. So I backed up on my own, back fully inside the store. I told thrm I went back in to get different lemons that she hadn't touched (Im disabled and cant handle touching- think sensory issues or whatever. Long medical list). I pulled put my phone fornthe recite (non arguing about any of it just asking not to be touched, again) and was gling to show Kim. Herman rushed up close in my space and I stopped pulling up my recite and said please give me space as I backed up another couple steps further inside the store. He acted offended and hostility and went into the space between the doors and grabbed anthher cart saying I had to pull everything out. I said ok, but lets do this at the service desk casue you're refunding everything now (mind you, the store had now reached closing time). His demeanor the whole time was very hostile. Rushed over to the service desk where I was starting to pull everything out and instead if him checking it off of my recite since they already scanned it off my phone, he tosses everything in the cart and rushes away with it. Meanwhile im trying not to have a full blown medical episode and get someone because I want every item checked off. Ive neber stolen anything. In fact befire scan and go existed, a cashier didnt ring up my case of water and when I realized it the next day when fiming my recites, I took the upc back to the store and had a cashier ring it up so I could pay (who also said I was nuts to do that since id already left woth it. But I consider ignoring the cashiers mistake the same as stealing which I won't do). The entire time Im being treated like im scum. While Im particularly complaing about the young kid that refunded me, they weren't nice and also acted like Id done something wrong. Im not even pissed Savannah the girl at the door who grabbed my produce after I said not to, which triggered everything. She made a mistake. It was the extremely hostile treatment from Herman, the assistant manager of all things, that made it horrible. On top of that, the ... wouldn't even go through the stuff to verify i did indeed pay for everything where I expected him to do and apologize for the horrible treatment. I asked Kim after if id done anything at all, that made it seem like inwas a thief? I walked back into the store on my own, I continued to go further into the store to give me some person space (I mean, what female wants a male 12 inches for her face that isnt her husband anyway?). I took out everything even stuff that wasnt noticeable in my bag because I was getting a refund and I wanted to be apologized to for being treated so badly. Nope. For a store that I thought was ADA friendly, apparently theyre not. Not woth Herman their assistant manager anyway.
The majority of the associates there are usually good. But thay definitely wasnt the case today. To give you an idea how frequently I shop there, if I hadn't used my sams cash earlier this year, I could have bought my entire next years membership and not paid a dime ofnthe higher one that lets you shop at 8am.

I am a newer member and had never used their gas station before so I was trying to make sure I entered my club card and credit card correctly. I had paid for my transaction and realized I had pulled in on the opposite side of my gas tank. I get in my car to turn around and the gas station attendant, Larry, comes over already in an escalated tone telling me that I could not do that and it was against company policy. There is one other car at the 15 some odd pumps that were there. He comes over and cancels my transaction on the pump and tells me Iām welcome to discuss it with management and walks away. As he is walking away a car pulled in at the pump behind me, now including me there are 3 cars at the pumps and he turns around and says see now you are causing a traffic jam. Very rude and unprofessional. I never intended to break company policy and I understand rules for others safety. However, there is a different way to handle customers. He could have even said if you will turn your car back the other way I will help you stretch the pump to the other side, as one example of acceptable customer service. I went inside and spoke with an assistant manager, Hermann. He was not much help either. I explained to him the situation and he just kept saying itās company policy, which I understand and I did not have a problem with the policy but rather the attitude and customer service of their employee. He said he would speak to Larry but never apologized or asked how they could make the situation better. He did not seem surprised by my complaint about Larry. I went to self checkout and my container of apple slices didnāt have a barcode so I told the lady working self checkout that they didnāt have one and she looks at me bluntly and says āI canāt help you, you will just have to go put them backā I said āno I want to buy themā she then kept arguing with me saying she couldnāt leave her area and when I asked her to go get a manager for me, she kept refusing that too until I kept on and on asking for one so then the manager comes over and gets me taking care of and I go to the door to have my receipt checked and Angie I believe her name was (the lady who told me she just couldnāt move from self checkout) was over at customer service talking to other people and folding some clothes. So all of that was a lie of her telling me she had to stay put. I spend WAY too much money at this store every week to ever deal with an employee the way I did today. I would never sit and argue with a customer and be down right hateful to them for absolutely no reason. Yāall are lucky I donāt call corporate. The next time I get this kind of treatment, I will get the corporate number and make sure something is done about this. This woman does not need to be in customer service.
