Saw a review saying the ramen was bland. I've had ramen in some places where it's $20 a bowl, and that's my number 1 favorite I've ever tried. I've tried many places with this restaurants price range and this particular restaurant comes in 2nd place out of the 10+ other places I've eaten ramen at. It was packed with flavor, broth included. The bamboo was also seasoned which i haven't had before, i got an extra side of it. The only thing remotely bland is the noodles but they always are anywhere I've been except the restaurant that takes my #1 spot, but they make their noodles by hand so that may be the difference. I got the tonkotsu ramen, as did my sister. My boyfriend got the spicy miso, my sister also got tonkotsu, and her boyfriend got the volcano. Everyone was amazed by how delicious it was.
For appetizers we got the octopus balls and soup dumplings. The octopus balls were so good I almost got teary eyed. The soup dumplings were equally delicious even when they got cold from us sitting and talking.
Of course we also all got fruit teas, (I got the coffee boba) and my sister and her boyfriend liked their teas so much they ordered 3 more Togo.
My sister and I even got cotton candy from the machine by the door and it was such a cute experience.
The little robot is adorable as well. I will be a regular...
Read moreTried this place out on a whim with the family on a Friday night. We got lucky and walked in without much wait but don't expect the same on a weekend night. The buzz around this place is intense and you can tell this was a very welcome and anticipated addition to the Florence dining scene.
We ordered the volcano ramen bowl and the pork tonkatsu. I was told the volcano was their spiciest and requested extra spice added to it because I'm just crazy like that. It was fairly spicy to me which would probably translate to extremely spicy for someone not accustomed to such things. The pork tonkatsu wasn't spicy at all and had great flavor. It also comes with a fried pork cutlet on the side and some (I'm assuming) house made BBQ sauce which was very tasty, similar to Japanese BBQ sauce. We also had an appetizer of the pork dumplings. They were pretty good but you only get 6. Not a lot when you're sharing.
Overall, the experience was great and the food is delicious. I've had ramen all over the country and I'd say this compares well to some of the better locations I've tried. It is a little pricy, but what isn't these days. Definitely worth a visit if you've got that craving that some good comfort food like ramen...
Read moreDecided to check Takumi out for lunch. Was greeted and seated promptly. Restaurant was clean and trendy.
Wide variety menu with pictures and detailed descriptions for their signature dishes.
Waiter was kind and prompt, offering suggestions for first time guest.
I chose the Katsu Chicken Ramen and my wife chose the Beef Fried Rice.
Katsu chicken was thin chicken cutlet breaded with panko and served with a mild katsu sauce. Panko crust was crispy with a moist chicken cutlet inside. Sauce was a traditional katsu! Excellent!
The ramen was in a bone broth with marinated egg, seaweed, corn and Bambi shoots. Noodles were cooked perfectly! Bone broth was warm and savory. I could have eaten the marinated egg all by itself. All together it was VERY good!
My wife’s beef fried rice was savory fried rice with small chucks of grilled beef. Only suggestion was the beef was a little overcooked but still good!
Service was wonderful! They even let my granddaughter pet the service robot! She got a tickle when it talked to her.
Moderately price, $80 for 4 adults and 1 child’s meal. No complaints there.
Great experience! Will return when in the area and...
