Went here for dinner on the last day of our dive trip. We got Blackened seafood combo with Seasoned fries, coleslaw, Ghost pepper burger, and Key lime pie. Here’s how it went:
The Good: seated quickly and the staff was friendly and helpful large glasses of water filled regularly lots of varieties of pods to choose from good parking lot ghost pepper burger was delicious, but the waitress said it was medium spicy and I’d say it was more hot seafood combo was delicious but nothing too special, shrimp was probably the best part laid back
The Not So Good: seasoned fries that you pay more for were not very flavorful. Save your money and get regular fries coleslaw also was lacking mixed veggies I chose with my burger had flavor but were over cooked and mushy EXPENSIVE!! One of the reasons we came here was because Google said it was $10-$20 on average. Nope. That is for the appetizers and burger type things. Most everything else on the menu is at least double. And when you have only meh flavor, these prices are outrageous. Key Lime Pie: three people in our party tried it and all said it was worthless, no lime flavor, felt like cool whip instead of cream, crust bad. And these guys had key lime pie in two other restaurants during the wee to compare. All said this was horribly disappointing.
Bottom Line: Pretty tasty but nothing special. Way too pricey for what you get. Certainly couldn’t take my whole family here without taking out a loan. Fine for some things....
Read moreDecided to go to this restaurant due to their high rating. On their Facebook page it shows it was open until 10:00 pm. Got there at 8:30. My daughter went to get us a table. When she walked in the hostess says “Oh Gosh (only used the Lord’s name in vain) please no more people.” She then proceeded to tell my daughter that they closed at 9:00 and that there was an hour wait. Hostess was so rude that we were not even offered the opportunity to even put our name down. But after she was so rude we didn’t want to stay. I went in after my daughter and 6 out of the 10 of our group walked out and asked to speak with the manager. I proceeded to tell him what happened and how rude the hostess was. We just bought a house in key largo and were excited to check out this restaurant because of its high rating. The manager didn’t seem to be concerned about losing our business or about how rude the hostess was. All she had to say was I’m so sorry the website is wrong and we just have too long of a wait to accommodate your group. This is the first restaurant that we have been to in key largo where the people were rude. Just be aware if you go before closing time, you might get your head bitten off...
Read moreWe've been here several times. During the previous visits the food and service was great. Tonight we craved Mexican and wanted to visit Peurto Vallarta but they were closed. We instead went to Alfredo's for their Mexican options. We ordered nacho's for an appetizer. They were good. For dinner we ordered the ground beef taco's and the beef burrito. This is where we became disappointed. The seasoning for the ground beef was literally Old El Paso seasoning that people use at home. The beans were Old El Paso canned beans which were used in the nacho's and burrito. And to top it off was Zataran's rice on the side. I was expecting some what real Mexican food. Not a meal sourced from Publix BOGO ad. When people want Mexican food they want real Mexican food; not a bogo kit from Publix. The employees appear to be of Latin origin and the best they can do is Old El Paso for Mexican?????? Come on now!!!! Call your grandmother and ask for her recipe if you want to cook real Mexican food. Makes me wonder what their Hibachi grill is really like when they can't even get Mexican food right. Is the Hibachi grill really PF Chang's...
